The medical professionals, speaking of Dr. Carlson and his team, are great at their given profession, and after three surgeries involving two kids. Both operations were a success with great results. At this point, no other eye care physician could satisfy our needs and wants when it comes to the satisfactory results when it comes to surgical eye care and after medical treatment. With that being said, waiting to be seen is a nightmare. When preparing to come for either a follow up or routine appointment. Allow for an all day appointment, and a full phone charge is a must. It is a nightmare to wait, where luck must be on your side to be seen within the first few hours of your arrival. Years of visits, several months a part shows that this a continuing concern and not an isolated issue. The first thirty minutes consists with checking in....three times. The parking lot, the main door and then finally the lobby. Logistical concerns need to be observed and data needs to be logged in regards to these completely ridiculous wait times. There must be a quicker way. Seeing a specialist shouldn't be this agonizing. Especially, when you practice time management yourself and arrive at the appointment thirty minutes prior to your scheduled time, just to be waiting for hours to come.

I've not been in since pre-COVID, and thus can't speak to safety measures of the office, but Dr. McCartt has been a great opthalmolagist for me - listens well to the entirety of what I'm going through and offers sound advice.

My daughter had to have eye surgery here and we are glad that she had it done here. The staff , the nurses , and everyone that we had to deal with were all friendly and caring to us.

Excellent, professional staff, nurses, Techs, Dr. Alan McCartt, exceptional in every way. I was very well taken care of from start to finish.

The social distancing protocols in place are not acceptable for the current level of coronavirus cases in the area, especially when a large portion of their clients are elderly. Most of the employees were friendly and helpful but I thought the male nurse that assisted my Mother and the Doctor were somewhat rude and cold to us. I understand that things are tough right now and it's hard to fit in all of the clients, but it seems that some better safety protocols should be put in place for the health of their patients and employees.

Dr. McCartt us knowledge, caring, through, and treats you with the utmost respect. He has been treating me for glacoma since he began practicing in Johnson City. I highly recommend Dr. M

He is one of the best. If I leave Johnson City, I will miss him. Does it all: checks for cancer, checks skin issues. He is just a top notch doctor.

He sent more time telling a staff member about his shoulder than he did with me. His staff did 99% of the exam. When he did talk, I had to butt in to tell him my vision issues. The person doing most of the exam did not wear a name tag nor stated who she was. She said she was a tech after I ask. She mentioned I had some nystagmus as an afterthought. What are her background to do the neuro exam? The doctor did not follow up on this . He charged for educational instruction. I got none.

This doctor spent more time in the hallway telling staff about his shoulder than with me. He did not want to listen to me. He did not history review. The tech did 99% of the testing. The tech did not have a name tag nor did she tell me who she was or what her job was. It could have been the janitor for all I knew until I ask. He charged extra for education. I got no/notta one bit of education. I will not go back.
