Absolutely terrible experience with her treatment of my autistic niece. She needed treatment and was forcibly held down by nurses who left bruises on her legs while Dr. Malkani completed a procedure. My niece has processing disorders and physical aversions and she was understandably resistant. Instead of accommodating or properly sedating her, they forcibly restrained her, shamed her behavior and completed the procedure. Then they dismissed her without completely making sure the equipment placed was functional. The combination of the nurse’s and Dr. Malkani’s disregard for my niece’s cognitive and physiological limitations was unacceptable. Please be wary of using the services of Dr. Malkani or Niswonger/Ballad Health if you have a child who is autistic.

Been going to her for over a year, and still no answers, I see some people are saying she's great, well I need to know what your secret is, cause I don't think she's trying to figure out what is going on with my child.

I wish I found her sooner! She took time to go over my sons records to try and find answers for his severe constipation and other medical issues. I was impressed on her knowledge and willing to help. She takes the time to look and think of how to put a complicated puzzle piece together when it comes to your child having medical issues .

My son has been suffering for many years as we went from doctor to doctor until we reached Dr. Malkani. She was very detail oriented, caring and took us under her wing. We now have a diagnosis and a treatment plan. He is for the first time feeling much better and is able to enjoy life. Everything was a positive experience at University of Maryland and we only hope Dr. Malkani will be my son's doctor for many years.
