I’ve had a number of spinal injections previously that were very painful by a different doctor and different clinic. This experience was has been so very different. From the greeting by the front office, to the pre check and nursing staff to the doctor was exceptionally good. Dr. Shawver was so gentle and was sensitive about my particular situation as a redhead. Most doctors ignore the fact that redheads require more Novocain to dull pain than the average person. He waited for the Novocain to take affect before he injected the steroids. The procedure was almost painless. I highly recommended him and State of Franklin Interventional Pain Management.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Shawver! He'll use every skill he has to help you feel better. He has helped my lower back pain more than anyone else. You can't go wrong working with him!!

Recently, I had an epidural to help control my back pain. Over the years I have had several of these but the best experience I’ve ever had was with Dr. Shawver. The pain in getting the epidural was minimum and I could tell he put the medication exactly where I needed it. My pain level started lowering soon after the injection. I have chronic low back pain and over last several years have tried keeping my pain managed without surgery. I started going to SOFPM and seeing Dr. Shawver. He has helped me cope with my chronic low back pain and has given me caudal injections, as well as, SI joint injections. In the short time of seeing him he has great patient skills, tells you if there’s new things to try for your pain and most of all listens to you . I highly recommend Dr. Shawver to anyone that deals with chronic pain.

Consider yourself blessed if Dr.Shawver is your pain doctor.The experience and knowledge he has acquired at such a young age is only surpassed by his compassion and concerns for his patients. He empathetically listens to my feelings on the course of treatment he is proposing and factors that in to his decisions.I've no doubt that he is dedicated to the long-term relationship as my doctor to the end of my days.
