Has failed to refund overpayment going on 5 months since he performed procedure on wife's eyes and insurance payment. Procedure went as expected, she needs a follow up for black dots/specs but concerned about going back to him
Wife had Surgery on both eyes a week apart, 18 and 25 May22. Was told I needed to pay 976.87 up front , my part. Insurance paid 100%, within a week of each surgery. Contacted the billing department and have been given the run around and finger pointing. Have talked to 4 different people who where handling my account. Now my calls/emails are being ignored. It is now 30Sep22 still waiting.
I am 77 years old with multiple health issues. I went to Dr. Reeves and Dr. Gentry who did the first exams and follow up, Dr. Gentry said he had over 40 years experience in this field. I had Dr. Reeves do cataract surgery on both eyes, and follow-up with a laser procedure. I have worn prescription reading glasses for 35 years or more. I don't need them anymore great vision. Highly recommend Dr. Reeves. Nothing but the highest professional services all thru the procedures.
Absolutely the worst doctor in the world!!!!!!!! Every visit takes at least 2 hours before you see Dr. Reeves. He diagnosed my family member (84 yrs old) which made her loose eye sight in her eye. We literally just went through a test that was not even supposed to have been taken. His staff is awful. They tell you that you are wrong. Dr. Reeves and his staff does not deserve the patients they have. Do not go there. July 18, 2022….
I first went to Dr. Reeves several years ago at the Regional Eye Center. I was so impressed I followed him and brought 7 other family members to his private practice. I was confident in his care and loved his energetic, friendly personality. However my husband and I did not have a good experience at our last appointment. He was in a hurry... Rushed the exam. There was a dog in the office area that the office staff seemed to be more interested in than the patients. I'm not a fan of animals in a medical office! The last straw was I went this weekend with prescription in hand to get new glasses using my flexible spending account, which is about to expire. The technician at the lens place I went to looked at the prescription and noticed the bifocal was missing. He said he had seen 3 other prescriptions from Dr. Reeves recently with the bifocal measurement missing. I called the office to request another vision test free of charge because enough time hasn't lapsed for my insurance to cover another exam. I don't trust my current prescription. They refused. I asked them to email me a corrected prescription, but I've yet to receive it. I'm very disappointed and frustrated. My sister-in-law had a bad experience with her cataract surgery, by Dr. Reeves, but that's her story to tell. I gave him 2 stars because I used to trust his care.
Knowledgeable, kind & caring, Dr. Reeves explains everything in easy to understand terms. He takes the time to make you feel comfortable & very confident in his impressive, extensive background, training & service. The office staff is obviously important to Dr. Reeves, as they are all so very helpful & warm! I can't recommend Dr. Reeves highly enough!
My husband had cataract surgery there....as an RN I was not impressed ...surgery was ok...lots of aftercare...which I never encountered with my own surgery with a different Dr.Then it was last visit no Rx from this Dr.to get eye glasses which he still needs...called our insurance and my husband was suppose to get his glasses free ...this group wanted to shuffle him to their optometrist to be refracted and charged another fee to get his glasses...my husband had to call his optometrist and get an appointment and pay out of pocket because this Dr.would not write him a prescription for glasses....beware....think twice ...it's about the money...
Great eye doctor . Everyone there is friendly ! Dr.Reeves is knowledgeable and great personality ! Makes u feel like he appreciates you .
Dr. Reeves is a very kind, intelligent, and skilled Opthamologist. Had been to another in Johnson City and one in Kingsport before finding Dr. Reeves. What a difference. I started asking around and found people who had been to Dr. Reeves for cataract surgery and ALL had the highest praise for him. One gentleman told me he had one eye done by Dr. Reeves and the other at the VA. The one that Dr. Reeves did had 20/20 vision and was much better than the other eye. You might have to wait a little longer (only sometimes) for your appointment but it is well worth it to not be rushed through this process like you have been shot out of a cannon, leaving you with lots of questions and concerns. He and his staff made me feel confident and safe with the procedures from start to finish.
I had a very difficult problem. He listened to me, came up with a plan and gave me the first peace of mind that I have had in over a year! Intelligent, methodical, kind, empathetic, extremely knowledgeable, professional, thorough...I cannot say enough good things about him. Every member of his staff was great as well. Nice, clean, beautiful and well run office. I was treated with respect and consideration, and I am truly grateful. I am telling all of my family and friends and anyone I can to go to him!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
