Horrible and doesn’t listen.
It was not a good experience. My condition was worse than before my blepharoplasty surgery. My follow up was ok. He did an office procedure but it did nothing. Follow up from that and he said that there was nothing else he could do for me. He also said that I was spending too much time looking in the mirror.
Dr Carlsen is a terrible doctor. I had surgery and he didn't even seem to notice that I was in a lot of pain as he was working. It was excruciating and he never even said he was sorry for causing the pain. After all that, the surgery didn't even work and he said he could do nothing more. I went to another doctor and he did the surgery pain free and it worked perfectly. Never go to this Dr, you'll be sorry.
He done my eye surgery approximately 13 years ago. In my opinion he’s extremely busy but the best and worth the drive and wait . I go on occasion to keep a check on my eye and if I ever need surgery again , he’s definitely my first pick.
Worst experience I have ever had..The arrogance filled the room when he walked in.. This individual which I do not feel deserves the title of Dr.. Is only concerned about cashing your insurance check.. He and his 2 assistant don’t deserve the title of nurse are absolutely useless.. He has 0 time to discuss anything prior to surgery or after surgery.. He and his 2 assistant would be much better off working in the morgue doing autopsy at least they wouldn’t have to deal with people... Very displeased with him and his staff..
He and his staff are Extremely arrogant.. He does not have time to speak with patients before or after surgery.. The only thing this Dr. has time for is, cashing his check from your insurance company.. I would never recommend him or his assistance to any one.. Worst experience I have ever had..
Back in 2014 I started having double vision so my primary doctor made me an appointment at JC Eye with Dr. Jeffery Carlsen. My wife came with me when I went in for my visit. The whole time he was more concerned about my wife’s eyes. When my time was up he asked my wife if he could look at her eyes. In the mail a few days later we get a bill for my wife. Completely unprofessional. So after that I went to a small clinic and was prescribed some glasses with prisms in them to correct my double vision. Now jump ahead 5 years and I start having trouble with double vision again even though I have glasses with prisms. This was/is a little scary for me so I go to my primary and he again gets me an appointment with Dr. Jeffery at JC Eye Clinic. I didn’t like it but I was desperate. I told my wife about it and she refused to get back “to that place” again. On the day of my appointment I show up and check-in and the place is packed with almost nowhere to sit. After 1 ½ hours I get called to go back by some girl that didn’t look old enough to drive. The first question she asked me was “what brings you here” so I knew right away that JC Eye had not gotten any better. Finally get in to see Dr. Jeffery he starts with his little eye exam but never talks or asks about what the cause might be. He explains that I am on the borderline between needing prisms or needing surgery. He said surgery “could” get me back to where prisms could help me. So by this time I was scared and super-mad so I didn’t let him dialate my eyes. Here is the part that really made me mad, he said “if your car’s engine was making a knocking sound and you take it to a mechanic but not let him look under the hood” and I’m thinking if my car is making a noise would I take it to a mechanic that said bring the car back in a month and I will work on it and maybe it will make less noise. No one would use that mechanic and no one would let a man cut on his eyes with not even the hope of fixing the problem. After 1 ½ hour wait the exam took like 5 minutes. It would have been a little longer had they dilated my eyes. I have had a shorter wait time and more care and attention given to my eyes at value vision. If you are a specialty clinic you shouldn’t be herding people in and out like cattle.
Very long story short- I just met a St Jude ophthalmologist who honestly said he probably wouldn’t have ordered an MRI for my daughters nystagmus since an eye exam simply doesn’t show any nerve damage or obstruction at all. Based on two slightly maybe possibly unusual factors in her onset of the nystagmus dr carlson just decided his gut wanted tp go ahead and have one done even though he didn’t expect anything abnormal either. Thank you so much. If you hadn’t been over cautious, and we had just observed her nystagmus for X amount of time, my baby’s 4cm brain tumor not only would be bigger, but would’ve been a ghost until she went either partially blind or began partial kidney failure. :( My daughters oncologist told us we were lucky, and we needed to go home and thank her ophthalmologist, because most kids wouldn’t be there with no other symptoms but “low grade nystagmus “ . She will now almost certainly live to her fifth birthday and probably well beyond. Thank you dr carlson. Yes , you will have to deal with a wait time at the clinic that makes your head explode. Yes he’s in a hurry sometimes. But he’s a good doctor. Bottom line.
I noticed a slight turn in my 6 month old child’s eyes, and after seeing him he said he needed glasses. 2 months out now and it has corrected and he wears the glasses like a champ! We did have a little bit of a wait, but I’ve not been to any descent specialist and not had to wait. I would recommend him to anyone! His staff was also so caring and great with my boy!
Extremely satisfied with eyelid surgery and brow lift. Thank you!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
