Karen Mcrae's Online Review Report Card

I have had three surgeries under Dr. McRae and there is no other Doctor I would go to. She is a matter of fact type person, which I like -even though she called me Missy!), and she has the skills to do the best possible procedure for her patients.

Dr. McRae was very informative and more than willing to answer any/all questions I had pertaining to my upcoming Achilles repair.

Very thorough examination and multiple treatment options. Excellent Doc and staff!!

Dr. Mcrae is very thoughtful in her diagnosis and she take the time to listen to my concern. Her nurse was very nice and polite and I felt welcomed by everyone.

37 days post op with no issues whatsoever. Dr. McRae is a wonderful, caring surgeon. She is to the point and doesn't embellish anything. I was concerned about having the surgery so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas. She said I would do great and I am. She and the other surgeons at Watauga Orthopedics are THE BEST you can possibly see. I just don't understand any negative reviews regarding Dr. McRae. She is very matter of fact and to the point. I think that is an asset. She doesn't sugar coat anything just gives you the facts. What more could you want? She is a wonderful surgeon. I know my issue is finally resolved. She had to fix a problem another surgeon didn't properly fix. Having been through a similar procedure before, I feel I can say she is a wonderful surgeon!

Both of my feet were bothering me from having 85 years of FLAT FEET. I saw a Podiatrist to see if he could help and after taking x-rays he said that I needed surgery and was to old for it and he could not help me. I mentioned it to my internist and asked for a second opinion. He recommended Dr. Mcrae. When I finally got a appointment I had about 6 or 7 x-rays on my feet. When Dr. Mcrae came in she was very cordial and asked me what my problems were. She proceeded to tell me what was causing the problems, in great detail. She was able to rid me of one problem just by showing me a new way to lace my shoes which elliminated a great deal of pain in my right foot. She also set me up to have Physical Therapy for my other problems. I asked her about being too old for surgery and she said that it was not age but physical condition that determined surgery and if I needed it she would do it. In leaving she said if I was still having problems just call for an appointment. I have had many doctors in the past 85 years and I would rate her number two on my best doctor list (my internest would be number one). My only regret is that I can only give her five stars. l

I am glad i seen her i was nervous from the other reviews...but she is very polite and very description oriented explained all my options explained what has happened and treatments...as of now no surgey...thank you Jesus...Watauga is a awesome place and awesome doctors...they have been very paitent with me and this foot....

Dr. McRae was wonderful! She listened to me. Asked alot of questions and was extremely knowledgeable. I do not understand all of these bad reviews. She is very kind and compassionate. I almost canceled my appointment after reading all these reviews. I’m glad I didn’t.

Did not tell anything that actually helped me or explained mypain.. Then she blew me off with a lame response an rushed out door when i asked what was causing my pain? Then a nurse came in and told me i could leave? No follow up. No results ofpain management..no help...waste of time n money ...sat in exam room for 50 minutes for nothing
