Terrible experience. Do not recommend.

Dr. Robertson listened to my symptoms and ordered an MRI right away. She answered all my questions and was very helpful. I was finally able to get answers and a diagnosis about the pain I was in and I really appreciate that.

Here's what I appreciated:- She believed my symptoms and had empathy for me. - She did not pretend that she knew exactly what was going on or the right way forward.Here's what I didn't:- Her front desk was by far the rudest encounter I've had with a provider. The woman would snap at me both on the phone and in-person, but when the doctor was nearby, she was sugary sweet. I didn't ask much of her besides scheduling an appointment and asking for copies of records... When I asked to schedule an appointment ASAP (my referring doctor requested that I be seen within the next week because of a possible CSF leak), she said that "everybody thinks they need to be seen ASAP, you're not special." Even if you think that, you should never treat a patient who is scared that way! Also, I was not a simple migraine case. - She told me and my mom some horror stories of other young people who never had their neurological symptoms resolved because there was no clear diagnosis.I'd probably trust her for help with migraines, but not for help determining a diagnosis on something else.

Dr. Marilyn Robertson is the best Neurologist I've ever had after many, many years in finding a competent doctor. Due to my very complex case, all previous Neurologists have been completely baffled and could not properly diagnose therefore identify the correct course of treatment.Despite all the false and negative and plain hurtful comments that have been published here in Yelp with regard to Dr. Robertson's experience, her past and in depth knowledge as a Cardiologist and as a well qualified doctor in other capacities, have helped me greatly.Please do contact Dr. Robertson as a first choice Neurologist.I can't say enough about the care and incredible depth to diagnose and deliver the appropriate treatment.

I went to see Dr Marilyn Robertson and the doctors office was a mess. The receptionist was sooo rude, argued with me and wouldn't let me speak to the doctor. I would never go back to this office again. No customer service. No apology for the bad service. Crazy part is they asked if I wanted to reschedule for another visit. NEVER go here.

I have been seeing Dr Robertson for well over 10 yrs. I have followed her to various offices during that time because she is wonderful! Although I have waited in the waiting room on some visits , I don't care because nothing is worse than having a major disease with symptoms that require conversation but the dr. Rushes you out before you can get through a conversation. Dr Robertson listens and takes time to hear you and cares what you have to say!Recently went to another Dr with a friend. She is a senior with Parkinson's. The Dr gave her 19 minutes and was walking out the door. I stopped him to say we had some questions and symptoms to discuss but he said times up!WTF!I live in the east bay now but still go to San Francisco for my drs because dr Robertson and my regular dr are so great! They actually care.And the woman at the desk is great. I am sorry I can't remember her name, but when I was taking a long time to schedule my MRI, she called me to check up. That has never happened before so thank you!!!

I need a new neurologist because I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2004, & my clinical trial is ending. I had a nice conversation yesterday with a receptionist who said that the soonest available appointment was end of July, but they would try to fit me in if there was a cancellation. I faxed my HMO's referral & a woman called me who would not allow me to explain that without a Rx for the drug I'm on, I risk serious cardiac side effects. She kept interrupting & wouldn't even let me say my clinical trial was ending July 19th. It's stressful enough to have MS. I don't want to argue with medical staff to get them to listen.

I was referred to this doctor a few weeks back because I need to do an MRI for my neck. I had three bone fusion around 8 years ago and it's still bothering me. I had to see this doctor because she is the only available at the time. I waited for awhile before she sees me but I figured all doctors visits are the same. There were many phone calls that day and the receptionist was battling with people on the phone and I thought to myself "how disorganized" this office is and whether I should just leave. After the long wait, I finally get to see the doctor. She was alright. Not much I could comment on her expertise. I was in a lot of pain that I cried when she was doing the check up. She told me I definitely need an MRI and will have her receptionist send in the paper work to get the insurance authorized.Two weeks past and nothing. I called three times and the receptionist was very rude and told me she already sent in the paper work and is waiting to hear back. Two weeks? Really? I told her I'm in lots of pain. Then finally on Friday she said it's approved and right now she is waiting for the hospital to call and set up a MRI appointment. Nothing happened again... I waited since Friday but no one called. So I called today (Monday) and asked for the phone number so I could follow up myself. I called Radnet, the facility that I need to do my MRI and they told me they only received my paper work late Friday of last week. OMG!!! WTF??? I am so upset. I've been in pain for two weeks taking all sort of medication and waiting just to find out they only fax the paper work over last Friday?So I called her office and spoke to the receptionist. I told her she is a liar! She said "Oh, I mixed up your paper with another patient". How? She asked me for my full name and my birthday every time I call in. I told her I was in lots of pain and that's not acceptable. So she responded "Mam, everyone here is in lots of pain and we have to wait according to the pain level". What? So to fax paper work into insurance company required a wait list of the pain levels? That is so f*** ridiculous. I will take this further. I will file a complain and talk to my lawyer about this. Unacceptable.Dr. Robertson, if you read this. You need to fire your receptionist. She gives you a very bad name. Read all the yelp review for yourself.The "receptionist lady", if you read this: Please go find another job. This job is not right for you. You are a liar and have no sympathy for people who are in pain. I could not sleep for many nights due to my pain and I waited and waited due to your lies. How do you even work for this place????

Excellent neurologist. She has been my doctor for over fifteen years. Has taken very good care of me. I have a serious disease with an uncertain future. Dr. Robertson has made sure that I got the care that I needed.

horrible doctor and quick to diagnoss to ruin people's life.make's judgements too fast and labels people. reports people to health department to cover herself and does not care about the well being of the patient. It's time for her to retire as it's clear she is just going through the motions. Look for other docotors that actually care!
