List of P Kumar's Reviews
She spends less than 5 minutes with you and charges more than 200 USD . Good luck with that ! She is very expensive for a pretty mediocre service.
She is very knowledgeable and was my doctor 8 years ago. I had to change to Kaiser and was very disappointed by. Now, I am back with PPO and she took me again as her patient. After all these years, she remembered me. She is honest, direct to the point, extremely smart and will debug your problem until the end. Not only that, she acts fast and follow-up with her patients.
i too do not understand the poor reviews at all. I have been a patient of Dr. Kumar's for years and have had nothing but amazing experiences everything time I have gone in. She and her staff are helpful, attentive, caring and try to go out of their way to accommodate the patient- that's been my experience. I called today with a hurting sore throat and even though the front desk told me there are no openings till next week- i asked them to forward my message to Dr. Kumar- her nurse called me back within an hour - with accommodating me the same day!! Could not have asked for a better doctor or care.
I can't say enough good things about Dr Kumar as a doctor. She has been there for me consistently for more than 10 years. She is kind, funny, empathetic, and knowledgeable. She also knows when to refer you to someone more knowledgeable. I'm not sure if the merger (?) with Sutter Health is at the core of the changes I have seen. But certainly Dr Kumar's availability has been spotty over the past few years. More than I would like, I have had to go to urgent care and wait for extensive lengths of time, because I could not get an appointment with her or any other doctor. I recently made the difficult decision to explore getting care elsewhere, in order to gain more consistency.
I first met Dr. Kumar when she treated my mother who needed to be seen after regular clinic hours. I was impressed with the way she talked to both of us, and diagnosed my mother's condition. Her diagnosis was confirmed a day later, and my mother was prescribed the correct medication. After witnessing Dr. Kumar's bedside manner, and her approach to medical treatment, I decided I wanted her for my primary doctor. Since that time other family members have also become patients of Dr. Kumar. I also find that in communicating with her via email, I also get a quick response.
Dr. Kumar has been my PCP for the past several years. During that time, she has been an outstanding doctor--helping me through several medical issues. She has the unique ability to be friendly and personable, while at the same time being highly capable and professional. She always takes plenty of time at the beginning of each appointment to find out what's going on with me, and also asks follow-up questions regarding previous issues. I couldn't be more happy with Dr. Kumar, and have recommended her to several of my friends.
Very interesting... I saw the response from prior user and was shocked! My experience was 180 degree opposite on pretty much everything Madhumita posted. I saw Dr. Kumar after trying out two other doctors and I must say I was highly impressed. She spent at least an hour with me going through my medical history, my parent's medical history, my symptoms, and my medication. She was very knowledgeable in explaining the mechanism with which the medicines worked, implications of having them with or without food, and regiment with which to approach the medication plan. She was candid in explaining the consequence of non-compliance with treatment and didn't sugarcoat anything. She was proactive in identifying peripheral things, and lifestyle habits that would help me in my case. I haven't run into scheduling issues yet so can't speak to that. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Dr. Kumar. I'll post an update if anything changes - hope not, cause I hate changing Doctors!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
