I checked in and sat in the Appalachian Orthopaedic Associates waiting area for an hour. I was just out the door when I was finally called in the see Dr. Huddleston. In the patient exam room the nurse asked a few questions and said the doctor would be in shortly. However, before even seeing Dr. Huddleston, another nurse stopped in to send me to x-ray. I’m afraid my patience wore out and I departed. Why would I need an x-ray before seeing the doctor? This is part of the reason behind exploding medical insurance costs. And, I would really appreciate medical professionals recognizing that their patients time does have value. Please don’t leave us sitting for an hour so you can maximize your billable time. Have a little more respect for our time.
