It has been a few years since I saw Dr Cummings. I went in mostly blind in both eyes. My left was worse. They kept throwing out random things it could be. Every months I would flare and it would get bad and then get a bit better. There were other symptoms that they said weren’t related. They kept telling me that wasn’t possible. They did little to save the vision in my left eye. We did injections in my right one and steroids drops and meds. 6 months and I finally got a referral to another doctor. They said it would be 2 months. My husband knew a girl that worked in that doctor office and when he called and explained the I was early 20s an blind they squeezed me in the next day. That doctor knew immediately what was wrong (autoimmune disease) and immediately started me on meds. Even with aggressive meds I never regained the vision in my left eye. It is just a gray blob. They were nice enough but I wouldn’t go back here.

Dr. Michael Magee was excellent/awesome! Staff was pleasant.

I had an annual check up of my retina and was, once again, impressed by Dr. Chris Larzo and his staff From check in to vision exam and glaucoma testing and pupil dilation and photographing of my retina, to Dr. Larzo's ultrasound testing and explanations. I continue to be so impressed by Their Professionalism and Thoroughness And The Respect That They All Display

I have decided to leave this practice. Dr Kleinman is amazing, but the staff is rude. In particular, a tall, curly, blonde haired lady was exceptionally snide to me on 2 different visits. On top of that, I waited almost 3 hours to be seen FOR A ROUTINE FOLLOW UP. I give up.

Very unprofessional staff. They tell you to come 1/2 hour before your appointment and then they leave you waiting for over 2 and half hours. When I asked how much longer until we see the doctor I got a snarky response. They act like they are doing a favor. Our time is valuable too….a little communication goes a long way. I would not recommend!!

Originally I went to my general optometrist in Aug and wasn't able to get an appt with a specialist till 5 weeks later. After being diagnosed I was only given a simple handout and no other info, then later through the internet I found out a lot of things that I shouldn't be doing. I was scheduled for a follow up 3 months after seeing them, at the end of Dec because I wanted it to be on the same deductible for this year. I get a call having to reschedule for Jan because the doctor decided to take a vacation during that week. Anyone I speak to is very rude to me. This is completely unfair and disrespectful to your patients when you all are so far booked out and there should have been a better accommodation.

I was referred to Southeastern Retina Associates for a detached retina. Every single visit, I’m greeted by friendly staff and quick specialized service. Dr. Cummings is extremely knowledgeable and good at what he does. I was nervous about my eye condition but the whole team has made me feel more at ease and hopeful for recovery.

I was denied treatment for recheck on a retina repair because I was wearing my own face covering. Even though the doctor did the laser procedure 2 weeks earlier and I was wearing the same type of face covering, covering my nose and mouth, and he never said anything about me having to wear the surgical mask provided by the office that is handed to you by the MA. So she touches the mask that I am supposed to wear. Further more there was another patient in the lobby who was wearing a cloth mask from home telling me I was ridiculous for objecting to accept the mask being handed to me. Is that discriminatory?

My Husband was seen at the Knoxville office on 3 weeks ago. He had a retinal hemmorage while we were in Gatlinburg and was able to get insurance approval and have him in the office very next morning. they were very kind and very friendly. I couldn't have asked for any better staff. will be recommending them to everyone
