Dr. Hanna is a highly sought after hematologist oncologist. He treats every patient like a friend or family. He is the best there is. If you experience a long waiting time- realize that he is trying to see every patient he can, and fully explain things to them.

I have been patient of Dr. Hanna’s for twenty-one years. I believe he is the very best available! He has successfully treated many of my friends. His bedside manner is wonderful and follow up superior! Please, look no further...

My mother is a patient here since the end of 2020 she had colon cancer n this is the oncologists that ut referred her to see. She has been in the office n found out her cancer is the aggressive kind n they done a huge amount of lab work to only be informed that some of the blood work was miss placed. So the doctors office shipped out to her house the lab vials and set up a time that was able to be convenient for the person who was coming to get the blood work and my mom to be at home. Meanwhile the person from this office was able to call n make sure my mom was going to be home n then the lady didn't even show up nor did she have the respect to reach out to explain why so my mom called the office and explained what had happened n that she was needing to get this rescheduled for her. Once again they didn't show up call her just like before. She called on Tuesday of Jan 2021 n still hasn't been able to get taken care of. It seems to me that they are not organized or care about patients.

He saved my life. It's as simple as that. I had a very rare form of non-hodgkins lymphoma when I was 21. I'll be 47 in a couple of weeks. Without Dr. Hanna's amazing care and skill, I don't doubt that I wouldn't have made it. He's an excellent doctor and a kind soul. Thank you, Dr. Hanna!

My husband decided to quit his Immunotherapy, Dr Hanna was very rude to us and would not answer our questions regarding my husbands CT scan. We ask if the ct results could be possible lung cancer, he stated oh its probably an infection , see you back in 4 wks!!! No compassion at all for my husband who has bone cancer. We ask what could be causing his increased pain, he stated I dont know. We ask how the immunotherapy, which has been causing cdiff, was affecting his colon, he stated Im not a colon doctor. No questions were answered about anything we ask. He stated my husband could have an infection but yet all his lab work was great. We left his office knowing nothing about what kind of treatment they were going to give him for this "infection". We ask if they could do a lung biopsy and he stated no too many complications! If you are looking for a compassionate doctor dont go here.

Dr. Hanna has understood my concerns with Essential Thrombocythemia and explained treatment plan options that have provided relief. Dr. Hanna and staff keep the patients concerns and offered reassurance from diagnosis and kept me as a partner in improving blood results for over a year. I do not hesitate to confirm the excellent state of art care delivered with compassion and clinical excellence.

Dr.Hanna was a God send to me and I will forever be grateful for the care, concern , and the friendship that he has shown toward me from my first diagnosis of stage 4 esophageal cancer to 9 years later now that I am in total remission. In my opinion, Dr. Hanna and the staff at The University of Tennessee Medical Center are the best inthe world!

Dr. Hanna and his great staff are the reason that I am here today, 9 years in remission from stage 4 esophageal cancer. His aggressive treatment for me from day 1 ,thru my surgery. my recovery , and now follow ups are why I am able to write this today. He truly followed my every day improvements and healing and to this day, he still keeps in contact with me, checking up on me! I consider him to be a great friend that never gave up on me nor questioned that I had the will and determination to beat this awful disease. I can call Dr.Hanna any time, day or night, and he will answer any question I may have and actually be concerned about it. Recently I was in a local hospital as a patient and very ill and told that I needed immediate surgery or I may not survive. I said that I wanted to be transferred to UT Medical Center in Knoxville immediately . I was told that I would have to be accepted as a patient there at once and even if I was that there would probably not be a bed available on such notice. So, at 2am in the morning I had the nurse call Dr. Hanna and instead of getting his answering service, he was actually just finishing an emergency surgery at the hospital and took the call. He said to get me there at once and then told me if they wouldn't do that in a timely matter that he would make arrangements for UT transport. I think they were in such shock they didn't know how to react! I know he treats all his patients with the same care and concern. I will forever be grateful for what he has done for mr and what he means to me and my family. God Bless Dr. Hanna and the entire UT Medical Center staff!

Dr.Hanna is the absolute best,i cannot say enough wonderful things about him.
