List of Charles E Payne's Reviews
Very professional, answered all my questions. Very helpful.
My daughter has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. She suffers from kidney stones and has seen Dr. Charles Payne on several occasions. The stones usually are too large and need lithotripsy. Dr. Payne is very good at his job. He took time, made sure she was taken care of at Indian Path Hospital and was the best at making sure those stones were gone. I highly recommend this compassionate and competent man.
5 years ago, my husband's prostate cancer metastasized to his spine. We were given almost no guidance and had no further contact from Dr. Payne, whom we had both liked and trusted. It was a frightening time during which we were without much direction until he died a painful death 5 months later. I understand that doctors don't like to feel they have "failed," but there surely are ways to help a patient transition to a palliative phase.
I was seen by this office last year. I received 1 bill from them and called them on the second bill received. The billing office (in house) told me insurance had not yet paid on the balance. I never received another bill until my balance of 260 dollars was turned over to a collection agency. From there I was contacted by them. The woman I spoke with from the agency said my new balance was going to be 400 dollars! I asked her how my balance went up, she not know and requested answered from their billing office, after weeks of waiting they did not know either! I will never get caught up in this mess again! BEWARE!
I like the Doctor as he is thorough, I have had Humana Gold for several years as well. When making a recent appointment to go Over lab results and a new issue involving pain the office never asked me a thing about insurance. I went to my appointment and was told to wait and they would call me up to sign in, after 10 minutes I was called and gave them my insurance card, the women at the desk said I don’t know if we take this, I said it’s Humana gold as before but now they added mire. She went and checked and came back and said sorry we don’t take that have a blessed day. After years with this Doctor and still having a great insurance I get have a blessed day? Here is a idea I had waited to come see him and was in pain maybe the office should have checked my insurance prior to scheduling the appointment. And quit using the Have a blessed day thing when half the people in this state use Christianity to proclaim they are and really do not care. If they had they would have figured something out. Even if my insurance changes to where he excepts it I won’t go back due to the unprofessional staff he has working there
Sorry, wrong doctor...
Dr Payne is awesome. He got me in on short notice for a serious urinary issue and performed outpatient surgery the very next day. He is very attentive and concerned and I am glad to know I have a new Urologist in Kingsport.
Dr. Payne saw my 16 year old daughter today for the first time and he was wonderful . She was very apprehensive about the appointment after many years of struggling with kidney problems and most recently losing one. He took the time to talk to us and answered all of our questions. He and his nurse were both kind and compassionate. Very happy with our visit!
Dr. Payne was very informative and caring to me. I felt very well taken care of with his treatment plan and follow up. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
