List of Christopher A Pendola's Reviews
I was diagnosed with MS in 2015. Dr Pendola did not try to aggressively treat this awful diagnosis. Now in 2022, I’m unable to walk at all and in a powerchair. I was unable to get a follow up MRI due to having a metal stimulator in my body but as I now know because I have a new neurologist, he could have ordered a CT scan with and without contrast to at least have a picture of my brain but that was never done. It’s really frustrating and bothersome to think that had he actually treated the multiple sclerosis, I may still be walking today. In fact, I know that I would. I’m sure that Dr Pendola and his staff will not like this review but I wish that someone had written this review for me to read seven years ago.
Thought he was concerned about my issues. However after insurance denied a test her ordered and requested a Peer 2 Peer review I never heard back from his office. I left several voice mails as well as emailed and never got the courtesy of a response. Very unprofessional.
Treated me like a child (in a good way). He explained the procedure (nerve mapping) and was as gentle as anyone could be while sticking needles and running electricity through your nerves. He listened to every explanation of my condition I could give and really cared about looking for the problem. Also, wait was not bad at all and staff was friendly.
Dr Pendola is an awesome Dr, I would suggest him to anyone! Great service!
Dr. Pendola is awesome, as well as his staff!
I would have given him more stars if the rating was soley about him but we need to keep in mind we rate the staff as well. I have had problems with a individual that checks in all patients for the entire practice as she yells name and insurance issues and today told me where another patient was going, which is concerning to me. That being said I had a visit scheduled for 8/13 at 8:00 in the morning. A women called me on 8/7 and told me the Doctor wanted to change my appointment to 8:45, I said sure so 8:45 on the 13th, she said no 8:45 in the morning. I was confused as I have never had a appointment moved forward. I said not Tuesday and she yelled NO TOMOROW morning. I said ok she hadn't said that. Anyway I asked again if it was 8:45 as I had another procedure scheduled at 11:00 that I couldn't miss, she said yes 8:45 and it will only take 30 minutes. I arrived at 8:30 to be told that my appointment was 9:45 not 8:45, I argued the point and had said the lady called me while in the car and she was on speaker and my wife heard her say it. This lady said well it takes 45 minutes and there was no 8:45 appt. I asked the question yet again about making it my next appointment and that lady said I would be fine. I told her someone needs to discuss with the women that changed my appt that she needed to get her stuff together. When I finally was called back it was 45 minutes prior to my other test and when I got in about 35 to 40 prior. I explained to the Doctor what happened and he was very apologetic and said we could do the majority of my pain issues since this incident happened and he can get me to my next appointment in time. He did do exactly that and was very professional and informative and listened to my concerns. We couldn't do all the test this day but he did the major one and I will definetly return to him. All the medical providers here are top notch it is just the sign in person I get usually and now this person who screwed me up and was rude to me. If they need someone to do employee evaluations I would be happy to help.
There is always at least an hour wait, come to find out, before your ever called back to the 2nd waiting area. After over an hour of waiting and then knowing my husband had a therapy appointment 1.5 hours later, all while watching a plethora of patients come in, get called back AND leave, we told them we were going to his therapy appointment and come back. They refused to work with us in any way whatsoever. All we were there for were mri is results. A phone call would have sufficed, but they refused. The receptionist was less than caring and clearly your time means NOTHING to this group. If you have a choice, pick someone else.
Dr. (I say that lightly) Pendola is the biggest "jackass" ever! My dearest husband, a highly educated physician himself---graduated from University of PIttsburgh with highest honers, practiced 30 yrs in Johnson City, Tn, delivered 4,000 babies, untold surgeries. When he started to have a progressive aphasia "Dr" Pendola spent about 5 minutes with him, wrote another perscirption and NEVER had him return for follow up! I am an R.N. of 30 years and I think this man needs to be removed from the practice of medicine. Medicine is "an art" and this guy does not have it! The WORST, I do wish he would call me to challenge this review, I would love to speak with him, but he dosen't have the time!
He really doesn't deserve the one star I had to give him. His staff was amazing, but he couldn't take the time for anything. When we picked up records, after transferring to another neurologist, he had stated that he had treated my husband for chronic stroke, which he had never seen him for. Bad practice.
Worst doctor I have ever gone to see. The staff never answers the phone and will NEVER return a phone call. Dr pendola does not listen to you, it is basically his way or no way. He pushed meds on me I didn’t want. When I had procedures done he wouldn’t talk about the results unless we brought it up. He spends NO time talking with you. He put me on a MS medication and never even checked to see if my insurance covered it when I jumped through hoop after hoop for them so I have now been on a really expensive medication my insurance won’t cover that I had to be under medical care to start. The office would never fill out my paperwork on time (fmla, short term disability or return to work). They have no concern for their patients... with MS people need to eliminate stress and this office causes it. They drag their feet with EVERYTHING. Worst ever. If you have MS do not go to him... save yourself the headache and stress

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
