Take my very elderly mother here every few weeks to treat macular degeneration. Although she has lost most of the vision in both eyes already, the injections are helping her keep the limited vision she still has in one eye. By keeping her vision loss from progressing, it will help her keep as independent as possible.The staff and Dr. Larzo are all friendly, kind, and understanding.

Terrible experience. Went from decent sight with scwiggly lines to a total blurr. 3surguries 50k dollars or more on my ins. Just to lose total sight in one eye.

Unfulfilled expectations. After having a detached retina, I was told I needed surgery and my outlook was good at getting my vision back to 20/40 in my right eye. Then after a failed surgery I was told He could probably get me back to 20/60. After 6 surgeries in which he finally got the retina reattached. I had to have a last surgery to replace the lens because all the previous surgeries gave me cataracts. All said and done my vision was NOT restored to anywhere near even 20/80 as he had said....actually its closer to worse than 20/200 because I can't see the Big E on the eye chart. He stated the rods and cones didn't come back. Now I can't fault him for something that didn't come back. What I can and will fault him with is making statements that were misleading and he could not fulfil. You never really know how a patient is going to respond to surgery, so why make a statement you can't and don't know the full outcome?

Outstanding physician and retinal surgeon. Excellent attention to detail and a great communicator . Very caring and compassionate Christian gentleman. Provided excellent service to me. Recommend him with enthusiasm and without reservation.

I’m Darlene Owsley from Wise, Va. I was referred to Dr Larzo 2 weeks ago by Dr Lee in Kingsport, Tn. It started from flashes of light in my Rt eye to being diagnosed with a detached retina. Dr. Larzo was an excellent doctor, while treating me and my husband like a real people. He was very good at what he was doing and made me feel comfortable. I was so afraid I might lose my Rt eye but he assured me that I would be ok. I have surgery in JC Thursday and I have complete confidence in him!

DR. LARZO IS PROMPT AND VERY EFFICIENT. HE ALWAYS TAKES TIME TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS I HAVE. MOREOVER, HE ALWAYS DOES A VERY THOROUGH EXAM. I CONSIDER DR. LARZO A VERY COMPETENT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE PHYSICIAN. IF THE PRICE IS EXCLUDED I WOULDN'T EVEN DREAD THE INJECTIONS I HAVE TO HAVE FOR MAC. DEGENERATION. I WOULD RECOMMEND DR. LARZO TO ANY PERSON WHO NEEDS A RETINA SPECIALIST.
