I am very dissatisfied with my recent visit with Dr. Galen Smith. I would never recommend this Dr to anyone. He is disrespectful and obviously does not care at all about patient's well fare. He told me nothing was wrong with me just from a physical exam and refused to do the needed test. He was very argumentative and treated me like I was trash. All of the other staff were very kind. Do not see Dr Smith, ever!!!

Should not have been emergency surgery,infection was not treated in a timely manner,between May and 2nd surgery's, had to seek treatment at Duke University to fix the problems that were created in the first two surgeries. It took 6 weeks to get a copy of my medical records which I should have been handed to take to North Carolina Hospital.

Dr. Smith when he was with Appalachian ortopedics almost 14 years ago. Outstanding doctor, knows his stuff, very careing and the staff as well. Would recommend him to anyone with ruptured disc problems

Dr Smith did my husbands neck and his back surgery and he was a very qualitified medically n had an excellent attitude and was very helpful in answering any questions that were asked.

I have grave concerns about Mr. Trent. I am writing on behalf of my father, who is immobile at this time. Mr. Trent was on rotation at the hospital where my father went after suffering spinal compression fractures. Mr. Trent performed two successful kyphoplasty procedures. He followed up with my father and stated he needed for my father to have an MRI, because he believed my father had additional spinal fractures. After that appointment, no one has contacted my family for almost a month. While my father suffers, the staff at Appalachian Orthopaedics has not returned any calls we have made to follow Mr. Trent's guidance. Multiple family members and my father's primary care physician have tried to contact Mr. Trent and now when we call, they have begun to hang up on us. It's rumored Mr. Trent's nurse/coordinator is off; but no one has contacted my father or family. No voice mails have been returned and now when we call, the staff have begun to hang up.UNBELIEVABLE & UNPROFESSIONAL.
