Please seek medical help elsewhere (Greenville, Anderson, etc.). I lost almost a year, while having cancer in my kidney, before realizing I was in the hands of wrong doctors there.
I think he doesn't know how to communicate well and lacks compassion. I won't see him again.
Basically told me my pain wasn’t real, even though my CT scan showed a kidney stone. Anyone who has passed them knows how painful they can be. He was rude and disrespectful and sent me home without managing my pain. This was based on my race and the stereotype of what many doctors believe at Sanford.
Horrible bedside manners and very unprofessional. My daughter ended up with him through admissions to the hospital.
My husband was traveling from out of state and came to the hospital in great pain. They determined that he had Kidney Cancer and needed his kidney removed. Dr. Herman was the surgeon and we had the option of trying to get him home (3 hours away) or doing the surgery here. We decided to have Dr. Herman do the surgery. He took time to see us in the Hospital several times prior to surgery, explained the procedure and showed us the scans of my husbands' kidneys. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Herman.
Caring, knowledgeable, competent, and gentle. Would recommend Dr. Herman without reservation. He's the best!!
first met him while a patient in the hospital. he was friendly and courteous, pleasant. followed up with 2 out patient visits. office staff was very pleasant to me and my wife... no problems other than wait time was a little long, but there were a lot of patients in the office
has reputation for accepting complicated surgerys was not very knowledgeable about penile prosethis had lots of pain for 7 month
DO NOT GO TO DR HERMAN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!! HE RUINED ME!!!! I went in for a simple hernia surgery, came out with a triple hernia surgery! Which is all fine and well...I signed the paper for him to fix whatever was there while he was in there. But now I still have the hernia that I went in for in the first place. I went back to visit him to get it seen about. He simply said...âI fixed you; you want to feel like a 22 year old...but you donât...there is nothing more I can do for youâ. He did not fix me... I am much worse off than I was when I went in there. He was nice to me until he got my money, then pretty much refused to fix what he messed up. Then on top of that insulted me and was arrogant! This guy needs his license revoked. I have to find another urologist to fix what he messed up and go through this agonizing procedure again thanks to this hack!
I have been seeing Dr. Herman off and on since he started his practice. He delivered my second daughter in such a calm quiet way that I can compare him to my midwife. My daughter had jaundice and was in the hospital for a week. When Dr Herman was there he was better than a nurse. My husband got a staph infection and Dr Herman was able to treat him after hours, and charged what I considered very fair since we were cash paying patients. He is kind knowledgeable, understanding and just the best Dr. ever.I am now out of the area, but recommend him to anyone who will listen.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
