When you're dying the last thing anyone should ask you for is a commitment. You must make a commitment to attend group therapy as if it's a priority in your life at this time, instead of just being there for you when you need them. I have the bandwidth to commit to my family, my Drs and myself. I don't need someone to micromanage my healing. There are days I wake up and all I can think about is cancer and then there are days I wake up when it's the last thing I want to think about. I shouldn't have to call and explain myself to get group therapy excused for that day and it shouldn't jeopardize my ability to attend when I need it.

I just can't give enough praise and thanks to Cancer Support Community! The staff is so caring. Services include: -support and counseling (group and individual); -various types of classes such as nutrition, fitness, art, writing, knitting, etc; -meditation, self-compassion, stress reduction; -workshops conducted by oncologists re: medical issues. There's so much more, but I can't begin to list them here. Services are FREE...and available for anyone with cancer or who've had cancer, for family & friends of patients, and there's support & counseling for those who've lost a loved one to cancer.

Fabulous staff! Huge variety of high-quality offerings including fitness classes, healthy cooking, art, music, educational seminars, and social events. A most supportive and healing environment at NO COST to those who have had their lives impacted by cancer.
