List of Helen Ross Mcnabb Center's Reviews
They have helped my husband TREMENDOUSLY. My husband is bipolar with schizoaffective disorder. When I first went there 11 years ago I was at my wits end and suicidal because of dealing with him and his paranoia. The Dr took one look at me and KNEW Peninsula Dr was NO help They found right meds immediately and it is so much more manageable now. The only thing I dont like is their new scheduling system. You have to call on certain date to make next appointment instead of them making it when you check out like they used to do. Also Genoa staff are 10 stars Those pharmacists are on top of it They gave his meds filled and mailed before I even call. Love you guys
Have called safety net line for 2 weeks and left message daily with no response for an appointment. Finally called another extension and they told me to walk in. So unacceptable.
This place is awful Considering this place is supposed to HELP people they do a terrible job at it. My partner missed an appointment due to getting the news her teenage brother has CANCER. When they called she explained her circumstance also considering we live over an hour away and they showed absolutely no understanding or sympathy. I highly suggest they either adjust their approach to things or replace their terrible employees with ones that actually care about their patients. How can you work in MENTAL HEALTH and take zero consideration for your patients? If you are considering this place I highly recommend looking into Peninsula as they have people there that are actually kind and care about their patients wellbeing. I am almost 100% nobody there will even bother to look at this even though they very much should. However to any other person reading this I hope you find a place to go to that genuinely helps you. There are many other resources out there that will actually help you on your path navigated mental wellbeing.
Im starting to realize this place isnt really about helping people. For example theres a program called P.A.T.H. thats supposed to help with people in situations of homelessness but in order to get into it the person has to take pysch medication in order to be qualified regardless if thats what they dont need. Thats really wrong and controlling to the population thats needing help. Its a big price to ask a person or force someone to have his or her brain medicated with in order to get help for what they really need food clothes a place and support.
I have been a client since the early 2000s. Most of the people I have interacted with are polite and courteous. I would have to say I have encountered a few people who are condescending and really do not seem to care about your well being. There is one psychiatrist that I especially do not like and I often wonder how she ever got a medical license. My current prescriber is a nurse practitioner and is very pleasant to work with. During my long history here I have had many prescribers and most I have had a good rapport with. If you dont mind associating with very ill people sometimes and going to the lower class part of town for treatment then I think you will do just fine receiving your psychiatric care at this facility. I am rating HRMC three stars for average.
My son was told to stop a medication and he ended up in the emergency room....he was having withdrawals from the medicine they told him to stop....yeah...you cant just stop it..he is so sick and dehydrated. They havent helped in his 7 years of going there and going to find a doctor who will take the time to help him. The adult center is just as bad...just using people as guinea pigs...i hope this lady doesnt do this to anyone else. Tennessee needs more facilities for people who struggle with anxiety and depression. Its sad...
Good place to get help.
This place is very disrespectful and non helpful to the mentally challenged and they almost killed my mother by giving her the wrong doses and the wrong medications this is a very dreadful institute
There is homeless people hanging out and was sleeping but after they removed the couch it is better. Dr Curfman is wonderful. Sonya and all Genoa staff are wonderful
Poorly ran. Many of the doctors are hateful and have to professionalism to them. Self centered snobs. Left hand dont know what the rights doing. Always full of drug seekers.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
