List of MIchael Brunson's Reviews
He is the most cruel, insensitive, unkind doctor that i have ever come across. Came to ICU room telling me that "in all the years i've been practicing no one your fathers age or condition has ever went home" the nurse in the room was horrified with his behavior and in tears. he wanted me just to "make him comfortable" i told him my daddy would want to fight and that's what we were going do. his last words to me were "don't you go tell people what i said" … tried to get my brother to give up on dad too, didn't work with him either … today my 80 dad is home with us in good health. Guess he broke Dr Brunson record … Always advocate for you loved ones, just because a doctor says it doesn't always make it true.
I've worked with many skilled physicians, but Dr. Brunson rises above many because of his down-to-earth and compassionate manner. I've seen him sit with a mom as her son was in ICU dying (as she had no one else there for her and there was nothing more we could do). I've seen him explain complicated issues to patients and families making sure they understood the situation. (He's often on the run, but when he can he'll do all he can.) I've also seen him intervene in many emergency situations (in the ICU and CCU at St. Mary's over several years), always on top of those situations. Clinically exceptional with a heart too. You may be blessed enough to find a few others like him, but I doubt if you find any better.
I've worked with many skilled physicians, but Dr. Brunson rises above many because of not only his skill, but his down-to-earth and compassionate manner. He takes the time (whenever possible) to explain situations thoroughly and I've even seen him sit with the mother of a dying son when no one else was there for her and there was nothing left that we could do. Clinically excellent and with more heart than you usually get to see from a doctor. Few may be as good, but none better.
Obnoxious and intimidating to family of an elderly patient with dementia. Prescribed opiates when requested Not to by family. Refused to perform a common procedure that would have allowed patient a second chance to live. Refused to consult with patient's pulmonologist when requested by family. Nightmare experience with this doctor! Perhaps he deserves the glowing reports listed on this site, but our experiences reflect a decidedly dark side.
Dr Brunson has some of the best bedside manner I have seen in a long time. He asks many times is there any questions you have for me, is there anything I can do for you, and he explains what is happening on a normal person level.
Dr. Brunson knows how to get his point across, even if you don't want to hear it! With my care, which was excellent, I think he used "scared straight" tactics and so far it has worked. It is rare to find a doctor like him and I have been in the medical field for 40 yrs.
My only experience with Dr. Brunson was in the hospital as he cared for a dear friend as that friend was dying. However, that experience is worthy of public review. My experience of Dr. Brunson is that he is a man of great compassion; a man who cares deeply for those under his care, as well as their families; a man for whom gentleness seems to come very naturally; and a man who appears to give great thought to his words before they leave his mouth (a tremendously rare quality in today's culture). Dr. Brunson is honest and direct, but not lacking in warmth and humility. Having experienced Dr. Brunson in the hospital setting I can say that his commitment to his patients is above and beyond the call. I'm not quite sure I have seen that level of commitment in that setting before. Trust is a huge issue to me in healthcare, and I can honestly say that I would trust Dr. Brunson with my life if the situation arose. This doctor is amazing!
HE IS VERY VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. HE DOES NOT MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID WITH YOUR QUESTIONS, AND HE ANSWERS ALL OF THEM.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
