I would give Dr Campbell more than a perfect rating. He was my doctor for 28+years. He always gave me the time, care, explanation and patience that I needed during my years with him. Yes, I’m sad that he’s retired but he deserves a long and great retirement. I’m hoping that the doc he’s referred me to is able to fill the good and knowledgeable shoes Dr Campbell leaves behind. I’m sure the new doc, who I’ve only talked to over the phone, is going to get tired of me telling him all the things Dr Campbell did or didn’t do. I’ve never had one complaint about Dr Campbell. He’s successfully handled my medical condition professionally and skillfully. I’ve had every confidence in his knowledge and skills, but he’s also been very good with his bedside manner when a hospital stay is required. After 28+ years I wish him all the best and hopefully he knows how much he’s missed. He’s been a great doctor who’s hard to replace. If he ever wants to practice again I would love to be his patient again since Crohn’s is mine for the long time.

Dr. Campbell practically saved my life. He is the only person that accepted to take me under his care as I was diagnosed with Colitis at 20 years old. It was not a smooth journey but Doctor Campbell took the time to assess my symptoms and put in quite the effort to explain to me all options from academic and recent findings. He truly gave me the best care with what was available during the time. Fast forward 10 years and to my surprise, he is well regarded by all gastroenterologists in Canada. I write this comment because I did not fully appreciate the depth of his knowledge and care (as he was one of the primary people I was referred to) but now got a true sense of how lucky I am. Dr. Campbell is the absolute best gastroenterologist in Durham Region. Too bad that he retired at the end of 2021. He was the only one who took the time to explain everything to me in full. He referred me to a different gastroenterologist after he retires. The doctor he had suggested wasn't a very good choice. In a few months I have only spoken with them once and have never seen them face to face. Sorry Doctor Campbell, I gave them a chance like you wanted me too, but I couldn't depend/trust them like I did with you. I would love it if Dr. Campbell could contact me.

I have nothing but good things to say about dr campbell. He took his time with me and was very thorough. He didn't order tests unless it was necessary. I had seen 4 doctors before I saw him and none of them knew what was wrong with me. I went to Dr campbell and found out I have cancer. He was also empathetic and kind as he told me that I have it. I highly recommend him.

Dr Campbell is an excellent Doctor. Very knowledgeable and he takes the time to explain everything and ensures you understand. He takes the time to answer all questions and concerns. He is kind, compassionate and very funny. His secretary is very accommodating and friendly.
