R Green's Online Review Report Card

Excellent doctor who answered all my questions and helped with my condition.

My wife left sobbing after just 1 appointment with Dr Green. The doctor tried to shame and fear-monger my wife into delivering with her. This is our first child and Dr Green lacked any empathy or understanding for our concerns.

It's been 10 yrs and I still have ptsd from my sons birth experience. Not only did she trick me into a scheduled birth (she's very busy so can't have "accidental" natural births)but the entire labor I was saying my sons heart rate kept dropping and she said it's just my contractions. I couldn't sleep I was so scared. Sure enough he was born not breathing because his chord had choked him, she even muttered "the chord was around his neck"luckily they revived him so I was so happy and grateful I never put in a complaint. Which I regret because to this day I wake up now and then as I am now at 4:30am from a nightmare. The reason I chose to write this is I've never said anything but I think to maybe stop thinking about this or dreaming I need to get it out. I'd wanted another baby for years and adore my son. It kills me to think of how he could have been a "stillborn" also for his first 9 months of his life he made a barking sound with every breath that I was told was damage to his larynx from this situation.I think she's arrogant and doesn't trust her patients. Manipulated me from having the natural labor I was hoping for that I'd previously had.this is another story. I trusted her but also had such strong gut instincts that I didn't follow because I trusted that she was one of the supposed best.grateful for the nicu Drs eho saved my baby who wasn't breathing for 2 minutes.

Dr. Green leans on the side of testing more frequently. I had a primary doctor try to tell me I needed a PAP every 5 (or 3?) years, which the insurance companies claim is sufficient. I was happy to find that Dr. Green said no way...it's important to test every year. For my last exam results, she called me herself. She's also very personable...I still hate their phone system, though. Oh well. Can't have it all.

Dr. Green is an incredible physician. I wish their answering service was as good. She's direct and personable. Best gynecologist I've been to in all of the years I've lived in SF.

This is a long due 5-star review. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Both of my daughters have grown up to be healthy. I had blood clot complications when giving birth to my first daughter and if it weren't for Dr. Green I most likely would have died. Dr. Green is very well-experienced and I forever appreciate that she saved my life. Unfortunately, it seems that many don't know how to appreciate and respect a talented and knowledgeable OB/GYN.

If you want to go to the baby factory, Dr. Greens your gal. She doesn't connect her My Chart, your appointments will be 15 minutes or less, no ultrasound after week 20 anatomy scan, there is a 30% chance she will be at your actual delivery. We all deserve better care than this.

Well...I've tried leaving numerous messages with the non-existent billing department (aka answering machine). Not once has someone returned my call. I hope the owners of this practice recognize that they are losing business given that their billing department is entirely non-responsive and there is no way a reasonable person would want to deal with a practice that is so unprofessionally run. I would return to see Dr. Green but this is just too frustrating. Please tell your employees to return calls or hire someone who will.

I liked Dr. Green - she's brief but direct. However, she wasn't all that complete...She didn't do a breast exam or inquire as to whether I'd had one recently (I hadn't). I would return to see her but literally nobody works in the office - ever. I've tried calling to pay a bill...left several messages with the non-existent billing department over the last several weeks and nobody has returned my call. Then, I tried calling the other number to book an appointment and again, nobody ever answers. It appears that I'm on a never ending hold on their automated system (approximately 15 minutes now). Apparently, they have zero employees working there - at 11:00 am. I refuse to spend my time dealing with a practice that is so poorly run. I can't imagine being pregnant or having any sort of real medical issue or emergency because there is literally no way to get through to a human being. Ever. You have been warned.

This review is long overdue. I'm writing as a doula. I could go into a long laundry list of stories I have heard over the years of mistreatment, bullying, and non consensual medical procedures. I will only speak on what I saw with my own eyes. At about an hour into unmedicated pushing phase, baby tolerating pushing very well, healthy strong birthing person with plenty of energy left, we all start to see the head emerge enough where it is clear very soon , maybe another 15 minutes of pushing , hard to be exact, Dr Green start pulling like a guitar string on the birthing persons perineum while telling her how tight the space is and she wants to just help "loosen this area". At this point I'm very confused. Of course it's tight and of course this slow emerging head is going to gently stretch and open allowing for baby to gently glide past. This stretching is so important to prevent tearing. However, I see Dr Green grab a syringe and begin to shoot lidocaine in her perineum. She's numbing it. Without any consent, she performs and episiotomy on the birthing person !!!!!! I'm in shock. I try making eye contact with the nurse whom seems very uncomfortable and is looking away. Almost as if she's seen this before and new it was coming. Dr green perks up in her tone of voice and becomes very proud of herself for "helping this baby" making it faster and easier. Doesn't say what she did and still in this moment the birthing person has no idea what just happened. I completely regret and blame myself for not advocating in the moment! It has stayed with me for three years now. Ashamed I didn't speak up. I was confused because surely she wasn't about to do a routine episiotomy????? We don't do those anymore because evidence has proven episiotomies make for larger tears and this was my first experience with one in at the time, four years into my doula career. I also am aware that while it was happening a baby was about to be in the arms of their mother and the last thing I wanted to do was create tension , or interfere with such negativity at a moment of pure joy. I tried to find a moment to speak with Dr Green after. She cleared out of the room so fast. She did not talk about pelvic floor repair and how to heal from this violation. This birthing person had a third degree tear. Took a long time to heal. This is me advocating now. Letting this story be public. My advice to anyone thinking of working with Green , is to bring up questions about her episiotomy rate, make it clear ahead of time you absolutely don't consent to one. Ask a lot of questions and really listen to how she responds.
