TeamHealth employs unethical billing practices. A full year after receiving emergency care at a local (Maine) hospital in February, 2019, we received notice that we were delinquent on a $113 invoice. Upon further review, we found that we had paid the invoice in full after insurance paid their share. When we started receiving text messages last month from an organization called TeamHealth, whom weve never heard of, it raised some red flags. We called the number online and spoke with someone who knew about the emergency visit. They claimed TeamHealth never received what they needed from our insurer until January 2020, hence the delay in billing. Things still didnt sound right, so I called the Patient Accounts department at the hospital we visited. Apparently, the ED physician seen was in fact employed by TeamHealth. How were we to know???Patient Accounts at the hospital confirmed that our bill had been paid in full an entire year ago. My next call was to our insurance company. They informed me that as far as they can tell, the invoice has been paid, and they sent the necessary documentation/information to TeamHealth in April, 2019. Why then, are we being harassed by a company weve never even heard of? I cant help but wonder if illegal coding methods are being practiced.

Investigate and hold your staff accountable for the racist cover up that happened at Hermann Memorial and the fact that a physician assistant was allowed to continue to work without any disciplinary action after racist audio and text messages were found. HR at TeamHealth covered up the incident and allowed him to continue to practice with no disciplinary action. How can people of color feel safe with your contract company and providers given that you tolerate overt racism? Is this “good ol southern racism” at its best? Do your providers care about the people of color that they serve? Companies like yours contribute to healthcare disparities in this country. I have been trying to determine if Teamhealth is in network for my insurance and so far they have been unable to find the local hospital in their records that contracts with Teamhealth. Since Teamhealth bills separately for their services there is no way to tell in advance if the charges will be innetwork or not.
Bill VA FEE BASIS and not Medicare when the patient is 100% serviceconnected disabled. Especially since you have been billing him wrong for over 15 years.

Poorly run organization. They do not manage to keep providers very long. EDs are not happy with them. Poor pay. Large company. Your are a minnow in a very large lake.
Worst experience in my family history . It took a State Senator ‘s office calling a hospital administrator, then waiting 10 days for a Team Health physician to sign a death certificate. Finally we had to get a Hospital medical officer to sign off ,since your Team Health Doctor couldn’t be reached . My dad laid in a refrigerator that entire time. Not a fitting way for a 95 year old WWII veteran to leave this world. Not even an apology from you St.Louis Director. I filed a formal complaint with DIFP , the Missouri State Board of Medical Practices. We received a bunch of reasons why this hospitalist doesn’t know when to sign on a death certificate , what was more egregious, is the fact all he had to do was check a box. The funeral director said that this doctor is notorious for this practice, and hopefully the State Board will put a stop to his horrible habit. It undermines your credibility ,and is emotionally draining for the families. I find it disgusting that no one at Team Health feels culpable for this poor quality of care.
Poor place to work with very poor management, benefits, and salary. Pass on working for this company and save yourself a giant headache.
This company doesnt recognize indigent financial situations. Not from the hospital where I received treatment. Tells you its all about the dollar. Not a compassionate company. They should have told me that the 1st time I finally got ahold of them after a long hold time. Mighty dollar over life.
Got a summons to court this morning for an outstanding bill from 12/26/2013... thats right 2013!!!! Thats 5 years!!!!!! I have spent ALL day trying to figure this out and have it taken care of since WE HAD SERVICE AT TIME OF SERVICE. I called Team Health for help. The first person directed me back to a recovery system. That was no help. I called Team Health back and spoke with Sarah, a supervisor, who was rude and condescending. I explained the situation and said I understood things happen and we are all human... I just need help getting this taken care of. She couldnt send me documentation that they had sent me any kind of bill, could only give me dates. She told me I would have to provide a certificate of service from our ins company because she cant make outbound calls. I call BULL, Ive worked in a call center and know they can make outbound calls. Anyway, I asked to be transferred to whomever would receive this form so I can make sure its handled BEFORE my court date to which I received a rude response. She transferred me to Astria(?) who acted as though I was crazy for trying to make sure this was corrected before the court date. She was talking over me and talking down to me like Im the idiot. Ugh, no.... YOUR company should have a better billing process.... One that follows the insurance page we fill out at the ER to know what ins company to send it to and to have it taken care of before 5 years, not wait 5 years and send the person to court over a bill they didnt know about. This is a complete shame!
I have no problem with the care received. Your billing though sucks. When I called with questions about a multi K bill your agent said its on you, call your ins. Co. Now is it only me but dont you think Maria should try to help me? Meanwhile no won gets paid.
It’s taken me two days to, finally, pay my bill. Tried to pay online, but the site wouldn’t accept my account number. Then was on hold forever, trying to get a representative. I asked why the site wouldn’t take my account number, and he verified it was correct, no answer. No reason given. Grrrr.
