He listens and always listens to what you say.
Very good doctor. I recommend him for any sleep issues.
Great doctor but horrible office visit scheduling. Always a 1.5 hour wait. Doesn't value patients' time. I changed doctors after this happened 3 times.
Dr. Higgins is the Best of the Best. Upon my first visit with him, he impressed me with his ability to listen and give his full attention to me, as his patient. I have struggled immensely with Narcolepsy. It has robbed me of so much during my life. He worked closely with me to find a solution, always prepared for another way to help, always prepared with recommendations and solutions when routes we were navigating through weren't solving the issues at hand. That meant everything to me, as my previous sleep specialist had given up after only two attempts. He took notes, followed up, listened, recommended, respected my wishes in particular aspects that are important to me, and he didn't give up. When he is not directly available, Michelle, his nurse, will always communicate with him on whatever matter I am inquiring about and relay the message to him directly with prompt response. We have found the answer, now. It has changed my life in every way imaginable and unimaginable. Go see him.
Dr. Higgins is difficult to see himself. See Amber Burns his NP most of the time.
Dr Higgins has handed my sleep disorder for over 10 years on my C-pat machine, making adjustments for a great night's sleep when my weight varied.
Professional.
He is a true expert in Sleep Disorders. I should have seen him at least Five years before I did. My Daughter strongly recommended that I see him. (He is also a Board Certified Neurologist, but practice now is in Sleep Disorders.) I was so very tired, no matter how much I slept and a Sleep apnea Diagnosis made all the difference. I certainly qualified for a C-Pap machine. He has vast knowledge of actual different kinds of C-Pap Machines and types of facial accessories. The correct flow is very important-meaning force of flow-and whether distilled water humiliation needs warming, automatically by machine. Though not a louder and more verbose, I have always listened to, and HEARD. I do feel he keeps more than adequate documentation. I have enjoyed the Office Staff and their kindness and professionalism. Through the years, I have stayed overnight for two sleep studies, and I was treated very well, and I slept on an extremely comfortable mattress, but especially this last study. I had a TV both times in the room, and it WAS NOT LIKE, "You have to go to sleep now." In fact mixing up night's and days was one of my big problems." I have really appreciated the Nurse Practitioners I have seen through the years also-very thorough and knowledgeable. (Also, if you ARE ON SHIFT WORK and have a SLEEP STUDY ORDERED, will be tailored to your needs, I am sure. These are the reasons I have given 5 to Dr. Higgins and all of his staff!. I would feel comfortable seeing another Sleep Physician in that office also because I believe there would be quality assurance. I also would not hesitate to see the NP.
I have been a patient of Dr. Higgins for about 4 years. In that time he has given me a superior level of care and diagnosed me with narcolepsy. He took the time to figure out a medication dosage that is right for me, and I never feel rushed in his office.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
