I tried to make an appointment with this doctor by they wouldn't even see me. I was just wanting to change my doctor because I just didn't mesh well with the 1st doctor I visited but they refused to see me and said they were not doing any second opinions to which I said I just want to change doctor's but to no avail. Wow didn't see that coming so off to search for another doctor.

Dr. Young did a extensive abdominal surgery on me several years ago. I recommend him highly. I wouldn’t use anyone else should I ever need more more abdominal surgery! He also took care of my niece and she did very well. He’s the best.

Dr. T is awesome! I've been going to him for a few years now. He is easy to talk to and explains things to you. I called with questions and he called me straight back .

My experience with Dr. Young was not nearly as positive as those expressed in other reviews. My first appointment was confusing: having almost no knowledge of GI issues, I had hoped that Dr. Young would take some time to talk through my symptoms and what my options were. Instead, he looked at my list of symptoms for all of ten seconds before stating that I needed to come back for a colonoscopy. He then left the room without asking if I had any questions or concerns. Attempts to contact him by phone to talk about my symptoms were met with a series of excuses from the receptionists. My second and only other appointment with Dr. Young was for said colonoscopy. All prep and procedure information was provided by nurses with no direct contact with the doctor. Prior to the procedure, he came into my room and asked how I was doing and then immediately left. Following the procedure, he came to discuss my results with my significant other and I. Being in a medical field, my SO had several questions about the results and how we could combat my symptoms going forward. He completely ignored all of her questions and directed all information to me, despite the fact that I was still recovering from anesthesia. Dr. Young's solution to my issue was to prescribe me a suppository to be taken daily for the next year. He provided me a single photograph from my colonoscopy and no other results. After starting Dr. Young's prescribed medication, my SO did some research on the medication and found that clinical trials had proven the drug to be effective if taken over the course of 6 weeks, with no evidence of efficacy if taken over a more prolonged period. I was able to finally contact the doctor by phone, where I presented these concerns to him. His response, verbatim, was, "Oh, don't worry about that. Let's just see how you're doing after a year and we can revisit it." Despite my misgivings, I did as requested and endured the rather uncomfortable experience of self-administering a suppository every single day for a year. As you might expect, the drug was initially successful in curbing my symptoms, but over time, they reemerged and have even worsened in the weeks and months since. Now, over a year later, I have decided not to go back to Dr. Young. He never contacted me about setting up another appointment and I had little interest in seeing a doctor that had never seemed to take any interest in my care. Unfortunately, I still required his office to send my records to my new GI doctor, which turned out to also be an unpleasant experience. I requested a referral and transfer of records to my new GI doctor in March 2021, still in the midst of COVID-19 protocols. I had assumed that, given the ongoing pandemic, such a request could be fulfilled online. No such luck. They required me to come into the office, which is attached to a hospital, to sign documents authorizing the release of medical information. This would make some sense if they needed to confirm my identity before releasing records, but at no time was I asked to provide any identification. I merely provided my name and they handed to documents over, meaning I risked contracting COVID-19 for absolutely no reason at all. Dr. Young's office also provided me a copy of my medical record at this time, information they had not, until that time, made available to me. It was only then that I found that they had biopsied my colon during my colonoscopy. The results of this biopsy were never provided to me until they released my medical record. All in all, my experience with Dr. Young was wholly negative. He is a terrible communicator, has awful bedside manner, and treated me and my loved ones with disrespect. I would never recommend that anyone subject themselves to his care.

I really love seeing Dr. Young, he's very professional and really cares about his patients well being!

Dr. Young was really great. I've had some issues for the last couple of years and have seen some other GIs and did not have a great experience. With Dr. Young, he took the time to really talk through my symptoms with me while also educating me on why these symptoms were occurring. During surgery, he made me feel relaxed and I had total confidence that I was in good hands. I can't speak highly enough about him, 100% recommend!

I HAD A HIGH RISK CASE AND ALOT OF DAMAGE DONE WITH DR YOUNG HE RAN TESTS BEFORE AND TOGETHER WE DECIDED THE BEST SAFEST WAY TO GO HE AS WELL AS THE TEAM OF DR TOOK ME OWN AMD HOMESTLY SAVEY LIFE AND GAVE ME A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE ,I personally will be forever grateful to his team of dr Thank you again .sincerely Paula Fugate

Our daughter seen many drs over the course of several weeks in 2 different cities but it wasn't until seeing Dr. Young in the emergency room at UT that we finally got the answers that we were looking for. He is very informative, patient, and kind! Thank you, Dr. Young!
