He is a very caring person. He listens and answers your questions. Very knowledgeable and very supportive. I would highly recommend him.
I’ve been seeing Dr Thompson every 3-6 weeks for a year now as his patient. I also have seen him as he makes rounds in the MSICU where I am a nurse. He is professional, kind, extremely intelligent, and informative. Highly recommended!
Amazing Dr Amazing takes his time with you and explains any and all test results treatment plans etc. I highly recommend him
In my opinion Dr Thompson is the best I have dealt with he was and still is very informative patient goes over all test results it’s like talking with a friend when we are in his office. Family member was diagnosed in early 2018 stage 4 and he is still here with us with the knowledge and the good lord above. I would highly recommend Dr Thompson
Best Oncologist Dr. Thompson has taken care of me since 1994. He let me make decisions in my care and was very informative of those decisions, which have served me well. His compassion is so heartfelt along with the staff at Tennessee Oncology. I highly recommend him and this staff!!
Dr. Thompson has been good for care, however TN Oncology staff has taken a week or longer to help setup home health care. This is from repeated phone calls, long waits on hold and never a returned call. This should not be how you treat patients!!
I have been admitted to Sarah Cannon for the past week. Dr. Thompson comes in like an old friend and talks to me like a human being. I appreciate his brain, bedside manner, and tactics. Thank you Dr. Thompson!
Absolutely love Dr. Thompson. Husband was diagnosed with a very rare blood disorder which was treated by Dr. Thompson and he definitely saved his life. He was later diagnosed with cancer and successfully treated by Dr. Thompson. Wonderful bedside manner and truly cares
Been going to Dr. Thompson for years, he provides excellent care & smart decisions when it comes to my cancer treatment. Very informative & caring when it comes to his patients as I have come to see. He’s highly recommended by myself and my family here in Nashville and Lebanon, TN
This physician may be an excellent surgeon. I do not have any experience with that end of things. What I do know is that he was assigned to my relative when she was in the hospital. While making rounds in the hospital, we were satisfied with his interactions. Patient stayed in the hospital for 9 days, with multiple tests, scans, biopsies. Dr. Thompson told us that he would contact us with the results of her final biopsy once she was at home. He never contacted us. I contacted his office multiple times, and could get no information. We were left for 10 days with no idea of diagnosis or prognosis or treatment options, with the patient disoriented and in pain. I find this cruel and unacceptable, but apparently it is common for this office.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
