Howard Holmes's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Holmes saved my life and gave it back to me. Diagnosed with a cancerous tumour destroying my upper jaw, several doctors told me nothing could be done, make my final preparations. Howard had other ideas, and tackled it head on! Several years and many surgeries later, I am healthy again. Looking forward to seeing him again in a few short weeks, I got a call this morning informing me that he passed away 2 days ago. I am so glad to have met him, and was able to tell him so on my last visit at Mt. Sinai hospital about 5 months back..... he smiled from ear to ear and thanked me for those kind words, saying that's why he did what he did - improving life for others. R.I.P. Dr. Howard Holmes, truly one of God's angels - you will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives you impacted, their families and friends.

I had to leave Howard Holmes practice because he wouldn't treat me unless I went on a drug that I had no need for. He needs to retire and try to enjoy his life. He hollered at me I was going to die if I didn't take a drug. I am quite healthy and the NO Rx at this time...and hope to never have to.

This place sent me a "late notice" letter 6 months after I went for a visit. I had never received the first bill. I paid the bill and then realized that the appointment was for a physical followed up by a second visit for the corresponding blood test. Physicals are free on our insurance plan (as are most). I called BCBS and they said that the bill was not coded for a physical. So I went back to the doctor's office and asked them to look into it. They said they have an outside accountant and they only come in occasionally. It took 7 visits for them to tell me that the doctor's notes did not show a physical and therefore nothing could be done. They could have told me that the first time. So I got stuck with a $200 bill that should have been paid. Totally incompetent staff.

Dr. Holmes performed a much-needed jaw alignment that was successful, but I felt extremely pressured to allow his team to add cosmetic surgery (such as cheekbone implants) that did not match my medical or aesthetic aims. He refused to agree that this wouldn't happen, so I ended up asking (and getting) another member of my care team to attend the surgery to intervene if necessary. The surplus surgeries did not happen, but I didn't know for sure until I woke in the hospital. Very stressful and unnecessary. Luckily, not all surgeons are like this.

An amazing surgeon. Absolutely changed my life in a profound way. The precision and time he takes explaining surgery to each patient is incredible and truly has bedside manner that other doctors should model themselves after. I feel incredibly lucky to have had him as a surgeon and to have been in the absolute best care for a very serious surgery. Cannot thank Dr. Holmes enough for his time, patience, and dedication to perfection. Thank you for changing my life .

Very knowledgeble staff!

Dr. Holmes needs to retire he continually cancelled appointments due to health issues. He yells at his patients if they dare to disagree with him.

Back in 2004 dr. Holmes changed my life and fixed a misplaced jaw from birth. He gave me the prettiest smile, till today I still get complimented for a job that was done by him. Dr. Holmes has hands made out of gold, a legendary and a doctor that practices his profession to the perfection. Well known doctor by students at the university of Toronto and all across the country. Thank you for changing my life.

Dr. Holmes literally saved my jaw from a cyst that had compromised it. If not for his efforts during my 5 hour surgery, I would have required facial reconstruction. As far as I'm concerned, he is legendary.

The most unprofessional Dr. I have ever seen, thinks he knows everything does not listen to his patients. He cancelled more than half the appointments I made with him for unknown reasons. He actually used vulgar profanity when speking to me on more than one occaision. He should do medicine a favor and retire.
