Dr Fridnd was a refreshing change for me after seeing a psychiatrist who just want to mexhcate me. Maryanne started slowly decreasing my medications to remove me from such high dosages. She was pleasant, listend and had a lovely nature.

I saw Mary-Anne when I was a teenager and extremely depressed. She asked me if I was cutting myself and I said I was, and her reply was "Now why would you want to go and do something silly like that? You don't want ugly scars on your arms, do you?" I felt so humiliated and stupid. She proceeded to put me on Cymbalta and years later when I wanted to come off, I had to see her again for instructions to come off safely. Her instructions were to literally take one pill less every week, like one week take 7, then the next week 6 and the next week 5 and so on. I nearly killed myself it was giving me such bad withdrawals, I felt like a junkie that was going insane. I did some research online and started taking the balls out of the meds every week and slowly weaned off over 7 months, which worked well for me. Would not recommend Mary-Anne as I found her disinterested, cold and to me, didn't do her job.

Dr Friend asked me all the right questions, recommended and prescribed a medication to work with my existing one as well as recommending a natural approach to mindfulness. She was easy to talk to, understood what I said and came up with some great solutions to my problems. Reception was nice too. It was a good almost 1.5 hour session, definitely worth the money $170 ($400-230 medicare rebate). P.S. i read the 3 other reviews before going and now not sure if i believe the 2 star one or maybe that person expected a psychologist not a psychiatrist. I would highly recommend Dr Mary-Anne Friend ... A++

Spoke to me for 40 minutes and she then proceeded to almost destroy my life. I would rather die than see another psychiatrist after being subjected to her treatment

Daughter went there from time of birth... never met a real Doctor, and they closed their doors without written or verbal info telling me anything about it.
