Yesterday I received my first iron infusion for my anemia. As soon as the iron entered my veins I had rare serious allergic reaction. Within 3 minutes of it entering my system my face turned bloodshot red, my chest felt like someone was sitting on it and after my mom had yelled for the nurse my throat was closing up quickly and I could no longer breathe. The second my mom had yelled for help I had roughly 10+ people run to my rescue doing everything they could to help me breathe and get the reaction to stop. It was a terrifying experience but I am so grateful that my nurses ran and did everything they could at the time that I needed it. While it was very rare it happened and they were on top of it. I’m very nervous about my next dosage of a different type of iron but I know my doctors and nurses will do anything and everything to help me when I’m in need. So from the bottom of my heart thank you! Especially to nurse kelsey for sitting by my side and keeping me calm when I was terrified.

I was supposed to get blood tests & instead got a call where the nurse told me she didn’t even know why she was calling me. When I explained my doctor referred me to them to be tested for a genetic blood disorder, and named said disorder, I was told I can’t be tested by them without already getting a diagnosis. Please make that make sense.

The staff at Tennessee Onocology and Dr Shepard made feel at ease with my situation. After going to their office I'm encouraged that I will get the best care avaliable.

We have been very thankful for our doctors and all the nurses who have taken care of my husband. The nurses are quick to return messages and we we few heard when we have concerns. The treatment room nurses are very special! They are gentle in delicate matters and caring even when patients are at their worst! Thankful for every time we have had to call after hours we are taken care of! We feel blessed to have had this team at TN oncology.

My dear husband, Eddie has been a patient here for the past 7 months. We are in love with the staff, from the moment we walk in until we leave and even after we leave. They are the epitome of what professional yet personal, compassionate and kindness looks like. These crucial hours are spent here in a pleasant and comfortable environment.
