Amara Elochukwu's Online Review Report Card

Took my son back to a f/u appt after he had some blood drawn. Well...we arrived early to be seen first cause it seem your appts didn't matter. Just 1st come 1st serve. I knew they close for lunch and reopen at 1pm. After tugging & knocking on the door for an hour, didn't know what to make of it. The office nevered open back up. I sat there & watched other people come do the same thing & leave. I eventually realized something was wrong. So we left & continue to call the office days after. All I know is they took my son's blood & now don't know what happened to it.

Dr Elochukwu was the on-call Doctor during two days of my son's stay at Memphis North Hospital in Memphis, TN. This Doctor was extremely disrespectful and rude. She did not even read my son's chart before coming in to room. She then proceeded to recommended meds that he was allergic to. My son was severely ill. Had I not stopped her and he gotten what she suggested there is no telling what would ...

My son was in the hospital for 8 days and Dr. Elochukwu was the on-call Doctor. She came in to his room on the 4th day and had not even reviewed his issues or status before entering. She was asking questions that did not pertain to him whatsoever. When "I" questioned her information, she got very irritated and she starting speaking very rudely to my son who hadn't even said anything to her. She then proceeded to say "he would be this way for the rest of his life" (meaning in pain) and she hadn't even reviewed his record???? After she left I called Patient Advocacy and they assured me she would not return to the room. Well the next day she returned and mentioned how she knew I had a requested a new Doctor. She then said No other Doctor wanted this case. When I told her I did appreciate her bedside manners nor tone towards my son who was severely ill. She replied..."I don't care about your opinion of me". She also said she knew she was not to be in the room???? It was like she was intentionally trying to bully us and did nothing but give us verbal and mental abuse. I called patient advocacy again and they were very upset she returned. They assured me she will go no where near my son. I requested my insurance nor myself get billed for anything with her name associated since she did nothing but upset my son and his care giver.....his Mom. I spoke to several nurses on the floor and those I knew and ALL stated that she is very rude to ALL patients and staff. They complain; but she still practices with this group. She may have her certifications and Doctorate; she is farthest from being a "Doctor" that I know of.
