Dr. Pokabla repaired my torn bicep. He has an excellent bedside manner, very personable. He explained the procedure and follow-up in a way that was easily understood. He answered all of my questions and fit me in for post-op visit if I had any concerns. I'm healing exceptionally well and I'm very pleased with my progress and my overall experience.

Dr Pokabla has performed rotator cuff surgery and repair of both of my shoulders. My left shoulder was done in March 2015 with excellent results-relief of pain, restored range of motion and return to work as a nurse. In October 2022, a familiar pain began in my right shoulder/arm. I immediately scheduled an appointment with Dr Pokabla and after initial treatments did not relieve symptoms, I had surgery on the right shoulder, March 2023. Dr Pokabla and Lacy took amazing care of me before, during and after the surgery- even adjusted pain medications during an especially difficult couple of days post surgery. I have also received wonderful care at the Poplar office with Samina, Anjessica and Lauren to name a few. Everyone there has been compassionate and caring. After many weeks of PT, I returned to work today without pain and nearly full range of motion. Dr Pokabla’s confidence and skill are reflected in the care he gives his patients and in the results of his surgical procedures.

Dr. Pokabla did an excellent job on both of my shoulders! If I had a third shoulder I'd get him to fix it, too! Ortho South seemed to value my time......they are so punctual!

Dr. Pokabla and his entire team took wonderful care of me during my eleven month duration of a torn rotator cuff and frozen shoulder. I had complete confidence during each step of caring for my shoulder. Dr. Pokabla was warm and friendly, while at the same time reassuring that he had everything under control, and that I was in good hands. He took the time with me every visit to listen to my concerns and address any questions that I needed to ask. He celebrated each and every little success during my journey. I came to love his fist bumps and high fives. And when he needed to encourage me to keep working hard at recovery after surgery and then a manipulation, he did it with just the right amount of toughness and warmth to keep me from getting discouraged. It’s obvious that he treats his staff well. They all seem to enjoy being on his team. That great attitude they possess makes it so easy dealing with each and every one of them, whether in person or over the phone. Shoutout to Lacy!

Rotator Cuff Surgery in June 2023. Dr. Pokabla’s confidence that he could repair my tear put me at ease immediately. He gave me clear instructions on what to expect after surgery. He answered any question I had and truly cared about my progress. Office visits were on time, and all support staff from entrance to exit were extremely helpful, friendly, and concerned. I followed all of Dr. Pokabla’s instructions and went to all PT appointments, and today he declared my arm to be healed. He was very happy, and I am extremely happy. I have already recommended him to several people and will continue to give him my highest recommendation and thanks.
