List of David Dowling Md's Reviews
Dr. Dowling is an excellent doctor. He’s knowledgeable about back problems, and he’s efficient about suggesting options for treatment. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Dowling‘s skill. If I could rate him on a number scale from one to 10 he would have a ten.
I had a wonderful experience at OrthoSouth. Dr. David Dowling was kind, attentive and informative. I appreciated his patience with my particular issue that seemed not to respond to treatment as well as I would have liked. His assistant, Hannah, is a Rockstar. She's very efficient. She always returned calls and never seemed to be annoyed or bothered by all the paperwork that was required. I appreciate them both.
Dr Dowling and his staff are very professional and caring. Never had to wait very long on appointments. Always felt Dr Dowling was listening to my issues and was very proactive regarding care and follow-up. He always explained what the plan to treat the condition was and how long it would take for recovery.
Dr. Dowling is awesome! He explains everything clearly so that you have a understanding of what’s going on with you. Also Hannah his assistant is awesome very kind and professional. Very pleased with Dr. Dowling and his staff. Thank you😊
I saw Dr. David Dowling about my years-long struggle with neck and shoulder pain. He had been referred to me by Dr. David Deneka, my shoulder surgeon, who, the previous week, had ruled out my shoulder as the cause of my pain. As soon as Dr. Dowling and an assistant entered the exam room, I requested that my recorded be pulled up. I wanted him to see the many times I had been to see another non-surgeon associate at OrthoSouth over the years for cortisone injections, prescriptions, and physical therapy. I waited as the doctor was silent and the young assistant stood as his portable computer. Ten to fifteen seconds of silence later, I said, "I guess he's not looking up my records." I informed Dr. Dowling that I go to the gym every day for 1-2 hours, performing yoga, cardio, and extreme stretches, and that some of what I do there can cause me pain. I showed Dr. Dowling photos of my extreme stretches and was embarrassed by his lack of interest. My abilities are particularly unusual for a person of my age and should be reviewed and considered by my back doctor. He ordered an MRI, which has been completed and I receive my diagnosis next week. I hope he pays better attention to my unique abilities and needs, and my RECORDS (!) before cutting into me. Perhaps all I needed at that juncture was an order for an MRI. I got that. Still, my individual concerns need to be addressed, because there's a person attached to the back pain.
Everyone @ Ortho South is helpful and caring. Dr. Dowling and his team listened as I described symptoms and then proceeded to diagnosis and treatment. I am well on the way to recovery.
Dr. Dowling was helpful in giving me my prognosis for my pain which was very intense during my visit with him. I think he was good for this being my first time seeing him.
Dr. Dowling treated me for muscle spasms and provided great care and understood what treatment was required. I’ve been an OrthoSouth patient for years now and don’t have any complaints about the services or medical professionals that have treated me! Everyone is awesome!
Dr. was nice enough, but don’t think he really wanted to take me on. There for 2nd opinion.
Dr. Dowling has taken time to talk with my husband and myself about my condition as well as help me to get a great deal of relief. He encouraged me to continue, but not to hesitate to reach out to him if it became worse. A good and caring doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
