List of Edward S Friedman Md's Reviews
Dr.friedman told me the same thing as wanda doyon commented below " I have done all that i can do what else do you want me to do" also he has no respect for his patients privacy as he basically yells at you when talking to you so the whole office can know your condition but as soon as he leaves your room his voice lowers while talking to his staff
Dr. Friedman performed my colonoscopy last year (2021). He and his nursing staff were wonderful; professional and funny. My IV was painless and the procedure was over with in no time. I highly recommend Dr. Friedman and his medical team for all GI treatment and procedures.
Dr. Friedman has the worst bedside manner of any physician I have ever encountered. Does not listen to your concerns. Dismisses you, when you explain your symptoms. After my procedure, he came in to discuss the findings. I already knew when I went in that I have a hiatel hernia. I asked if he was going to repair it because it is causing eating problems. His response was he does not do surgery on those types of hernia. As I explained my symptoms again and my concern that it is causing my digestive problems , He looks at me and tells me "he is not going to stand there and argue with me. He has done all he is going to do about the hernia." This all took place in the recovery room after my endoscopy. Do not I repeat do not use Dr. FRIEDMAN. A HORRIBLE EXCUSE FOR A DOCTOR.
Dr. Friedman is very dismissive of concerns from patients. I would not recommend anyone to see a doctor who does not listen or seen to care when you express your symptoms or concerns . This is often how proper diagnosis is missed.
He was rude kept rolling his eyes when I was talking and didn’t really listen I don’t appreciate it
I read the one negative review before I made my appointment, but scheduled anyway. The exact same thing happened to me, a year later than the previous posting. Missed work, arranged for a driver, they cancelled. At least they caught it before I went through the prep! BMI is hardly an invisible condition, there’s no reason for this to happen once, and totally inexcusable for it to happen to two patients.
I have had issues with swallowing for a long time due to a CMV infection. I have had many endoscopies over the years with temporary results. Dr. Friedman performed 3 endoscopies 3 weeks apart recently and adjusted meds for me. I have had no problem since. I give this man my highest recommendation. And having had kidney failure for the past 30 years, I can speak with some authority and considerable experience on the effectiveness of doctors! I am so pleased to have discovered this brilliant, affable, and talented man. Also, his staff displays the utmost professionalism and care. I could not recommend anyone more enthusiastically.
Dr. Whatley is great. He takes his time to explain things and offers great advice on how to resolve concerns.
Went to Dr. Friedman for his specialty with the gallbladder, pancreas, and liver (my gallbladder was diseased and had been removed three years earlier by another GI group, but symptoms never subsided). I hoped he would be able to answer some questions and find some solutions. The first appointment was rushed and shallow, but he ordered a colonoscopy and endoscopy, and I still felt hopeful as this seemed to be an obvious first step. However, after several hours in pre-op, it became clear the Dr. Friedman was not available for the procedures, and his partner completed the tests on his behalf. I waited two full weeks and never received a follow up call, let alone an apology for the issue. I understand accidents happen, but no ownership was taken on his part. After reaching out to his office multiple times, I finally told them to send me the results as I was going to explore other options. His nurse requested that we give him another shot, and I thought surely he would be more dedicated after such a miserable experience. I went in for another appointment and waited two hours before I was called back. His NP was wonderful and concerned, and was thorough in her conversation with me. She said Dr. Friedman would be in shortly. Two more hours passed, and another nurse asked if I was waiting to be checked out. Nope, I was waiting to be seen. Four+ hours in, I was that desperate for help. Twenty minutes later, Dr. Friedman came into my room, asked me what tests we had run and how many other times we had met... that much time and he hadn't even looked at my chart. When everything came back "normal" with my scopes, he essentially said "I can run a few more tests, but about 70% of the people I treat are just like you." He then wanted to re-run another $8,000 test that I had done just months prior. Told me to try a gluten free diet. All I could do is sit in the exam room and hear him tell me that he probably wouldn't be able to help me... and that was the second time I'd met him. Thankful he suggested the gluten free diet, though. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease not long after... not sure how we missed that one. Dr. Friedman is undoubtedly brilliant, but is also undoubtedly unconcerned for his patients.
I have had several of these performed. Dr Friedman and his staff are top drawer. It was a very good and professional experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
