Feiyu Chen's Online Review Report Card

I was a first time patient of Dr. Chen’s. He was very nice, helpful, and informative. He listened to my issues and responded to them directly. I was pretty freaked out because of the previous reviews but I had a great experience with him! The nurses were also extremely kind and helpful.

My worst experience with a doctor in all my life was with Dr. Chen. I went complaining of my hands falling to sleep, pain in my back and shoulders and neck. He had me do some type of calisthenics with my fingers (i.e. touching my nose and such)...then told me I needed to lose weight. As if I don't see myself in the mirror each day. I then asked if he could run some tests to check for degenerative discs...he refused. He didn't advise me on my pain issue at all, but later sent me a bill for over $200++. Please do not visit this so called doctor.

I wish I had read his reviews before making my appointment. Dr Chen is arrogant and rude. He didn’t look at me when speaking. I asked him about treatment and his answer was “ no cure for that , nothing can be done.”

Years ago I went to this doctor in pain. He did a series of tests and said that my large nerves were ok. I asked him did the have tests for small fiber neuropathy he LIED and said they don't(I researched and it said it was possible). He wrote me a prescription for duloxetine. Which was basically because I was crying from the pain. Now I have permanent numbness in my toes. My new neurologist is going through the steps of testing me for small fiber. He is going to do a biopsy which is something dr. Chen stated was impossible to do. I wish I could give him 0 stars because I've been dealing with this pain for all of these years because he refused to do further testing on me. Update: My present nuerologist has diagnosed me with small fiber neuropathy based on the results from my biopsy that he performed. If Dr Chen would have tested me, I wouldn't have endured all of this pain for all of these years.

This was the worst docter I ever seen the only reason rates a one cause I couldn't go below it. He very rude to me he didn't even read my medical records or test results it was right in front of him he just judge me for being over weight not asking my medical history he seems so racaist against black women it's a shame they allow him to mistreat patience he was a waste of time.I was rush out of the clinic when I asked how to report him.

I saw this doctor once and he determined that the prior doctor had more experience with treating my migraines than he did....at that point, I decided he was not the right doctor for me. My next visit, brought in simply to refill a prescription, he told me that he didn't write prescriptions for pain meds and since I had already tried everything available to me already, that I should see a doctor who could write prescriptions for stronger medicines. I explained that I didn't want more drugs I wanted to be migraine free or at least decrease them, he said, I would be better off with pain management or a headache clinic. I'm amazed that he could determine all of this with less than 30 minutes total interaction with me...truly amazed 😕

He very rude has a real bad attitude it's so awful he don't even check your medical records thats right in front of him. He just look at you and judge you by how you look not caring about your medical history he is a waste of time

On 4/4/19, I visited Dr. Chen as a first time patient after waiting two months for the appointment. Upon entering the room, Dr. Chen asked "What are you here for?" I replied tremors, numbness, blurry vision, buzzing near my spine and a feeling of something moving on my scalp. He responded, that none of those are neurological symptoms and I should probably see a psychiatrist. I have never been so disappointed in the lack of care or empathy from a physician. I will be filing a formal complaint.

I read Dr. Chen's reviews prior to going, but because my PCP made an 'urgent referral' three days prior, I decided to go ahead and see him. Unfortunately, the reviews were similar based on my experience. He told me everything was 'normal,' although some of my blood tests clearly were not normal. After I pointed this out, he said I needed to see a Rhumetologist, which I already do. These symptoms are different and involve muscle weakness. He said that it didn't make sense that if I was having these symptoms that I didn't go to the ER. I explained that as a professor I have a lot of flexibility with how I do my work, and I made adaptations to my work in order to accomodate the symtpoms, thinking (until last week when I had double vision, slurred speech, severe muscle weakness, coordination and balance problems) that it was stress related. I responded, after he challenged me several times (implying I was making up my symptoms) that I understand that he does not understand what I'm experiencing (at which point I decided I would not be back. He said I was right that he didn't understand. Then he said he could order an MRI if I wanted one. I did not have him order an MRI becuase based on his assessment there is no medical necessity, so that just seemed fraudulant. My father has a neuromuscular disorder that took 10 years (and my mom searching the internet) to figure out before he got a correct diangosis. My cousin went from running marathons to a walker before they figured out her autoimmune problem, treated it, and now she is running marathons again. Contrary to Dr. Chen's culturally or gender biased belief, just because he doesn't understand something does not mean that a woman is crazy.
