If I could leave 0 stars, I absolutely would. In September of 2015, I broke my arm as a result of a car accident. It was placed in a soft cast with an appointment the next morning with Dr. Aitken. He placed the cast on my arm without removing some of the wrappings from the ER visit the night before, and without cleaning the lacerations on my wrist. After telling the doctor and his nurses multiple times that I was having a lot of pain, the cast was removed the day before Thanksgiving that year. The cast was removed to show a huge mass taking up the width of my wrist, roughly 2.5 inches long. He scheduled me for an emergency debridement procedure on Black Friday, two days later. Pathology showed the mass was a fungal infection. It had literally been eating away at my flesh while the doctor and his nurses dismissed my pain. The gaping wound on my wrist didn't heal until April the following year. Really solidified my mistrust of medical "professionals."

After seeing another orthopedic surgeon at a University setting, it was refreshing to find a doctor willing to spend time and do a thorough physical exam. After my surgery, all my friends who had similar surgeries could not believe how much faster I recovered and how small my scar was

After examining me and reviewing my history, Dr. Atkins told me my pain wasn't coming from my hip. There was obvious swelling and at times I had to drag leg because pain was so severe. He didn't believe I had a labral tear. He didn't believe anything was wrong. I left there in tears. 4 months later I had hip scope. 10 things were repaired in my hip. Surgeon said I must have experienced excruciating pain. Dr. Atkins treated me as if I was faking it. I have the OP reports to prove I wasn't.

He operated on my son's hand several years ago. He set expectations for healing, he was very kind, considerate and professional. The outcome was better than expected! I am making an appointment for myself for knee treatment.
