Horrible bed side manner and has a half-assed approach to the way he practices medicine. I unfortunately had the privilege of having a teledoc consultation with this doctor. I was referred to him from a third party organization. I just needed a consult for a sleep study. I could feel his arrogance through the video televet consultation. He was very short and brief about any of my questions. He just checked off answers from his computer without really asking me what my problems were. His office had me fill out a questionnaire before the visit a week prior. However at the time of my visit he couldn't even find it. He blamed it on COVID and being understaffed. That's totally fine I get it we are all struggling now. However, when I told him I needed a place that was in network for the sleep study he got very condescending. He told me that prices were standard and that they wouldn't get any cheaper. I told him they were charging me almost $400 for a in home sleep study. He said well that's actually a deal and that if I didn't follow through with it I just "wasted' the consultation with him. He never tried to find a remedy for me. They specifically referred me to him because he was in network. This morning I just received a bill for $375 which was never brought up to me by anyone prior to the 10 minute consultation. My insurance covers my specialist consultations and the most I pay is $95. This guy is total sham and is definitely unprofessional. Why wouldn't you offer me and alternative? He could have offered to find a place in network to have my sleep study performed. He obviously didn't care about my issues and only cared about collecting that money. Anyone looking for a sleep "specialist" stray away the reviews are on this hack are real.
I've had many neurologists over the past 17 years, and I can assure you that if you do in fact have a sleep disorder, Dr. Singh is exemplary. Some sleep docs only have have the competence to deal with sleep apnea, and are very overwhelmed by narcoleptic patients--Dr. Singh is not one of those. I've had narcolepsy for a long time, and my level of fatigue is pretty consistent--I'd mostly accepted it. Dr. Singh has been determined since the beginning to find new strategies to make me feel better. He isn't a laidback doctor that settles for undesirable outcomes. He thinks deeply, listens with care, and if you're willing to try something new, he's innovative and he'll try to find you a cutting edge solution. He's collaborative. He takes the time to explain what's happening neurologically. Honestly, I couldn't ask for better.
I had been suffering for years with severe sleep related health issues and decided to seek treatment and a 3rd opinion with Dr. Singh after seeing two other sleep specialists who were unable to provide me with an accurate diagnosis or provide me with the proper treatment options. Dr. Singh was not only able to provide me with an accurate diagnosis quite quickly, he and his staff were able to seamlessly have all my necessary testing and treatments approved through my insurance company which was always a constant struggle for me before becoming a patient with them. Due to the pandemic, I was able to easily schedule all my appointments via tele doc and the office staff has always promptly replied to any of my inquiries or appointment requests. I'm extremely grateful to Dr. Singh and his office staff because I am finally feeling well and managed after a very long and difficult struggle with my sleep and health.
normally I wouldn't write a review, but my experience was less than satisfying with dr. Singh. I saw him for a period of time when I was going through a moderate episode of reoccurring major depression. I was on antidepressants at the time, and found myself excessively tired to the point where I could not go to school or do anything without feeling exhausted. dr. Singh always seemed like our appointments were less than interesting and a waste of his time. I often left these appointments wondering why I was paying him so much money in the first place. He himself has a tired look about him, like he would be falling asleep in the middle of a conversation. We knew I was excessively tired, and genius dr. Singh comes to the conclusion that I have a sleep disorder. While it's not impossible, I myself knew that it was unlikely that I had a sleep disorder when my other symptoms were extreme depressive symptoms. I guess sleep doctors look for sleep disorders, but I would have been misdiagnosed and started on the wrong treatment if I believed him. One time he was asking if I was still taking my medication, and he slipped up and said some name of a medication that I had never heard of before, I can only assume it was from another client and it got mixed up in his head. It happens, no big deal, but it just goes to show how little he cared to know about me and often the room would be filled with awkward silence. He would always say "it's your life you have to decide I can't decide for you" when discussing medication changes without even giving his recommendations. His office was in a break room and I would be sitting on a wanky chair next to a sink wondering why I was paying for someone to not listen to me. Better doctored out there guys.
While my initial review of Dr. Singh was positive, and he didn't consider me a burden at first, he now does. He lacks the patience and empathy that those of us with sleep disorders require. Perhaps the pandemic contributed to bringing out the worst in him. I feel stigmatized and harassed while I am with Dr. Singh. I don't know what changed besides the CURES laws unnecessarily overregulating sleep medication and the mental debilitation associated with the pandemic. That definitely got to him.I think his office is severely understaffed as well, but they are responsive when they can be, and I don't want to pick on the powerless in that sense.Good luck, but don't expect a Godsend. I thought he was, and I was very wrong. He is cruel.
Knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, the list goes on. Dr. Singh is heaven sent. I have seen many specialist over the past 25 plus years and have been misdiagnosed for about the same length of time. My first visit with Dr. Singh, based off of my symptoms and really listening to me, he was already confident that he knew what was wrong with me. He order a test that was never recommended in the past by any of the other doctor, to confirm. Results are in and he hit the nail on the head! I am now looking forward to the treatment that is going to get me up and running again!
Dr. Singh was the first sleep specialist to prescribe me Xyrem for my persistently intractable, extremely debilitating insomnia. The other specialists I went to dismissed me as a nuisance or doctor shopper and wasted my time and money. Ever since I started on the medication a year ago, my quality of life has since been far better; gone are the days that I deal with the constant temptation of suicide arising when one chronically gets four hours of sleep. He saved my life.
Dr. Singh is my sleep doctor and I think he is really great. I have never had to wait for an appointment, always get right in. His bedside manor is very warm. I sure like him and I think you will to. His office staff speak English which another plus.Cliff. Foster
After struggling with day time sleepiness for a long time I had finally decided to do something about it. So, I was referred to Dr Singh by my doctor. One year since that fateful day - after 5 visits to Dr Singh, after sleep tests worth about $10K, after many frustrated and angry conversations with Mr. Singh's staff - my symptoms showed no improvement. In fact they had worsened.Out of frustration and anger I decided to consult another doctor. In one 30 minute session, this new doctor diagnosed that my sleepiness was due to an inflamed nerve (C5 and C6) running from my neck to my back. It was due to this nerve malfunction that I was experiencing sleepiness and other symptoms such as anxiety and occasional sensations in my head. And now, 4 chiropractic sessions later, seems as if I am on my way to no day time sleepiness at alll !!!!Simply put, Dr. Singh is an incompetent doctor. And I am willing to stand trial for my opinion. All he is capable of and interested in is getting you to sign up for one or more sleep studies in his clinic. The study - and not Mr. Singh - will then tell you if you have sleep apnea or not and whether you need to use a mask while sleeping or not. That is it ! Dr. Singh does not know any thing else.No wonder then, that while you are talking to him explaining your symptoms to him, he is busy typing some message on instant chat with either his staff or god knows who. I am not exaggerating this. I swear to the truth of my experience.Conversation with him during my last visit (I can testify about the truth of this)Mr. Singh (angrily) : "I am getting frustrated with you Chetan. Why aren't you getting one more test that I am asking you to get done?"Me: "Will the result of this test help you cure my condition?"Dr. Singh : "No. Your condition does not have any cure. This test will only help me understand it better"Me: "So, will you change this medicine - Nuvigil - that you have prescribed for me"Dr Singh (with anger): "No. Medication will not change"Me: "So why are you asking me to get the test done?"Dr. Singh : "Coz you dont seem satisfied with what I am telling you. That there is no cure for what you have"Save yourself some trouble.Do not go to this apology of a doctor.Please.
