List of Jay Patchen Md's Reviews
I don't have a problem with Dr. Jay Patchen at all; so far he has been very good to my mother. The staff at his clinic on the other hand is another story. I call in this morning due to my mother isn't feeling well and was told that Dr. Patchen is out of town; which is fine and they told me to bring her in to see the NP which I did. When arriving at the clinic we was stop by Shanita who was vey rude. I told her that mom was coming in for the upper respiratory infection Dr Patchen diagnosis her with over a week ago and that we was told to come due to she still wasn't feeling and better she informed us that there was a 2hr went;I asked her how come when there was no one in the waiting room and there so no one in there cars outside. Shanita got snippy with me. I asked her when will Dr. Patchen will be returning and she said the 21th and that his next appointment will not be until November. Mom didn't want to went so we left; but I told her I will be making a complaint due to she was rude and hateful. I will also be letting Dr. Patchen know how rude she was.
I had been looking for a Good primary doctor and have now found one. Dr. Patchen is excellent. He is very thorough. I
He only prescribes medication without any kind of care. He never touched my mother once while she was under his "care." He does not respond to his patients, and because of his non-responsiveness, my mother suffered a stroke. He had her on too many medications and now she has moved on to a Black woman physician and is healthier than she has been in years.
Dr. Patchen is very caring and professional. He took his time and listened to my mother's concerns. He ran tests and went over the results and checked all her medications. It is rare to find a doctor this thorough.
Easy to talk to and seemed concerned about my health.
His assistants are nice, but he came off as short & uncaring. He was very condescending towards me. I complained of headaches and a bee bee knot on my foot. He just glanced at it for a nanosecond & shrugged his shoulders. After a few moments of silence, I asked again if he knew what the knot on my foot is, and he simply said "I don't know". I asked again about my headaches, he said that he didn't know either but what he did know is that the tests "could cost a lot of money, so I don't know. If u want to set up some costly tests, we can certainly do that!" as he was laughing! I paid $175 co-pay & got another bill for $84 just for him to tell me "I don't know". I ended up going to a doctor whom my daughter's pediatrician referred me to. If you're a black woman, BE CAREFUL OF THIS DOCTOR! My daughter's pediatrician said that a lot of them DO NOT CARE and will collect your Co pay and listen to your "complaints" but will not take your health seriously or treat u with equal respect!!
I have been seeing Dr. Patchen for a few years now, and would not hesitate to recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
