John Eshun's Online Review Report Card

Our son had suffered for months (almost 1.5 years really) with most of the classic signs of Crohn’s. Our GP had done lots of tests and had treated him with 8 different meds with no relief and at one point our 17 year old was on 7 pills a day. Being under 18, we were referred to LeBonheur. Dr Eshun and his nurse were wonderful with him and spent at least 45 minutes with us that first appointment. Dr Eshun did an endoscopy and colonoscopy and found that our son had moderate to severe Crohn’s throughout his GI tract. I was so relieved to finally have answers but upset that we had let it go on so long. Dr Eshun was so kind to reassure us that we couldn’t have known how bad it was. One of the other reviewers said they believed Dr Eshun saved their life and i really believe he saved our son’s life. By the time A was diagnosed he was a 5’10” boy who weighed 115 pounds. Thank goodness Dr Eshun was quick to order the tests and treat him with meds to get him into remission so A could enjoy his senior year of high school. He also wrote us a letter so he could request a dorm room with private bathroom. Now he’s an active college junior who has had great successes in the classroom and in his extra curricular activities. Thank you Dr Eshun!

All was well for about 5 months and within the next 4 months my son was facing multiple new debilitating ailments. Dr. Eshun was not quick to respond and get to the root of the problem. We got 2 second opinions and transferred my son’s care to a different physician. We quickly found out what was wrong and within weeks my son was improving. He was in remission after 4 months of switching doctors. The answers were easy to find and the other docs were surprised we couldn’t get these answers from Dr. Eshun. My son suffered for months and simple blood tests that Dr. Eshun failed to run revealed the problem.

Dr Eshun and other gastroenterologists at Memphis children's hospital put me on medications that made me feel even worse! I complained to them continuously and they refused to change or take me off the medications. I dropped their BIG PHARMA meds and started natural remedies. Ever since I have been feeling better.

Dr. Eshun saved my life 21 years ago and has been a name I speak often when telling my medical story to others. Now I have children of my own and because of my own problems my children could inherit my crohns or be riddled with other auto immune diseases. I wouldn't settle for anyone less than Dr. Eshun for my own children!! Whatever you do, if you love your children, DO NOT let Dr. Linda Lazaar care for them. She is a lunatic and I believe she gets a cheap thrill hurting children. She did me, at least...

His diagnosis is way off! My children have had to suffer and be in pain because if it. He is friendly but my primary concern is not the bedside manner that would be a plus, but I need an accurate diagnosis! Medical attn for my child!

Highly recommend Dr Eshun & the GI group. They are all absolutely Phenomenal including the Nurses. Very detailed, caring & wonderful bedside manners. Very Thankful for this wonderful group.

I LOVE Dr. Eshun. He is a very caring, compassionate doctor. he is not only excellent with the children he treats, he explains procedures, diagnosis and results in terms parents can understand. This man has saved the life of my child and our family loves him dearly. I would recommend this man to any parents who are searching for that one doctor that will make a difference in your child's gastro health.
