List of John M Craig Md's Reviews
DR. CRAIG PERFORMED THREE BYPASSES AND ONE HEART VALVE ON ME IN JUNE 2020. HE HAS GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER AND REASURRED ME EVERYTHING WOULD BE OK AND HE WASN'T WRONG. I FEEL 100 PERCENT BETTER. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE FOR HEART SURGERY IN HIS FIELD.
Dr. Craig performed two carotid artery surgeries on me. He is a caring, professional. My cardiologist thinks he is the best. Even though there are surgeons in my cardiologist's group, he recommended one outside of his group. Great bedside manner. I know a lot of people who know Dr. Craig and work with him at Baptist hospital and they ALL believe he is the ultimate, professional and skillful surgeon. Great bedside manner and ALL questions are answered. I had an issue with the first surgery concerning the catheter (not Dr. Craig's responsibility or fault). Dr. Craig and the wonderful anesthesiologist fixed it so I would not have the same issue on the second surgery! I don't understand the person that gave him one star with no justification.
Dr. Craig is exceptional! He is highly skilled with a great compassionate bedside manner. He explained all possible surgical procedures in detail and likes to go with the most effective non-invasive procedure first. He is my “ go to” surgeon for any heart related surgeries from now on. I put my life in his and Jesus’ hands and trust him 100%
My mother (98 years old) had multiple blood clots in her leg. The options were, surgery to try and clear the arteries of the clots, amputation or a chemical drip to bust the clots. After consulting with Dr. Craig, he shared his concerns and view of success with each option. Based on her age, health and immediate need for blood flow to her lower leg and foot, we elected the surgery option. Dr. Craig was concerned, compassionate and fully open with us on the risks vs. benefits with each option. Dr. Craig started my mom's surgery at 3 am due to the urgent need to save her leg. The surgery went off with no problems and complete success. She is now in recovery and doing well. I am beyond pleased with Dr. Craig and his caring, compassion and skill. Thank you Dr. Craig.
Dr. Johnson is kind, attentive, concerned, knowledgeable, and wise. I am glad to be one of his patients for the last five years. I can usually get an appointment with Dr. Johnson right away if needed. But if he's busy and I need prompt medical attention, I'm happy to see his colleagues (Sherry, nurse practitioner, or Lisa, physician's assistant). They're a fine team and I'm grateful for them all. The office staff people are friendly and helpful. I have never had to wait very long and the waiting area/appointment rooms are clean and pleasant. I notice that some reviewers are concerned about parking. Yes, there is a lot right there that costs a few dollars. But if you're cheap like me, you can easily find free street parking (on Green, a couple of blocks east). I have recommended Dr. Johnson and Sierra Spring to several friends, who have had a positive experiences as well. So, five stars, a big thumbs up, and lots of gratitude.
My husband was having a heart attack was admitted to a hospital. The surgeon who performed his first two by pass surgeries no longer was in practice. Some how Dr. Craig was assigned his case and performed a very specialized by pass due to the fact they could not open my husband up due to previous heart surgeries. Dr. Craig took his time in explaining risks and need for the surgery. He took extra care to make sure that we understood.
The people in the medical office and nurse were all smiles and helpful prior to surgery. After Dr. Craig released me and said I could go back to my regular cardiologist, you can’t get anyone to call you back. He himself told me if I had any problems call back and he would be glad to help. Started having medication dosage issues. Well the nurse never returned any of my 6 calls, the front desk said they would have someone call but that never happened. Yes he’s an excellent surgeon and very caring, but if you can’t get any type of follow up help when needed, what’s the point. You should never be released until they are perfectly sure your meds are stable. It should not be up to another dr to figure out.
An excellent profesional and very dedicated to his work thank you very much. For everything
Dr. Craig replaced my 73 year old wife's mitral valve giving her a new lease on life. Extremely professional and knowledgeable in his field! Doc, again, thank you for all you did!
Dr Craig did open heart surgery on my mom May 21 2019. He came in on a Saturday night when he wasnt on call and made my mom feel comfortable with him and she knew she was in good hands. He visited the family after surgery and explained everything in detail and even asked everyone what relation they were to my mom. He answers all of your questions. This Dr is where he should be, doing what he should be doing. I want him to know that he is an awesome surgeon.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
