John M Freeman's Online Review Report Card

John Freeman is the most abrasive and uncaring doctor ever. I was not his patient, but my 92-year-old grandmother was. She has dementia and had anxiety about cataract surgery. She is in a wheelchair and my mother brought her in for a consultation. My mother couldn’t lift her into the exam chair and the doctor refused to offer any assistance, and seemed irritated that she was not physically able to do it. He said, “That’s not our job. People always come in here thinking we’re just going to help, but you need to make another appointment and come back with someone else to help you.” My mother takes my grandmother to doctor appointments all the time, she is not catatonic, she just sometimes needs another stable hand. Apparently that was too much to ask. So my mom went back with a man to assist my grandmother. Somehow the doctor still found a way to be rude and condescending. He had given my mom a card for some eye drops, which the Jewish home would not prescribe because the doctor did not sign it or write an actual prescription. So this time, they asked him to simply sign something to fill the script. The doctor got all flustered and said, “I don’t have time for this, I’m not gonna go there and show them how to do their jobs.” All my mother was asking was for him to sign the prescription. They refused fill a script without a signature from a doctor. Even the nurses there seemed to understand and were trying to be accommodating, but the doctor was acting so inconvenienced and fed up with the most minor request to simply do his job by signing a script. You would have thought he was asked to go fetch a rock from the surface of the moon. I believe this man can’t stand to see patients. He made it clear his only desire to stay in surgery and crank people out like a robot. He is burnt out and can’t be bothered to expend one more iota of decency. Maybe someone needs to give him a hug, or maybe he just needs to consider the fact that sooner than later, he will be an elderly person with health issues and unable to advocate for himself. I hope the people caring for him treat him like a human being, unlike the way he treats patients and their families. If your job has made you hate people, you can get away with phoning it in if you work at the DMV, but if you’re a surgeon doing cataract surgery, probably predominantly on elderly, disabled patients, then it’s time to retire or do something else.

Everyone was extremely friendly and thorough with my eye exam. The wait was not long, beautiful waiting area. Their own optical for glasses on the same floor Very convenient.

Best dr ever, was almost blind in both eyes! Now I’m 20/20 ! Thank god for dr freeman

Dr. Freeman is the best doctor I have ever had. After bouncing from many ophthalmologists, I was so excited to finally found a doctor I trusted so much and who was so thorough and caring. He has incredible bedside manner and he is so knowledgeable. He makes each patient feel so special and I truly trust his opinion.

I spent the past almost two years with a serious eye condition under the care of Dr. Freeman. For my many visits, thousands of dollars spent on eye drops and gels, and time spent traveling to other doctors at his recommendation.....I am now left without vision in my right eye and a permanently dilated right pupil. It took a doctor in another city 5 minutes to look at me and diagnose me correctly. Needless to say my relationship with Dr. Freeman has gotten "long in the tooth" and I took myself off his patient list today. Trust me.....if you have a condition that is in anyway complicated.......save your vision, your money, and your sanity and go elsewhere!!! From my personal experience, the two star rating is generous.
