Karen Berry's Online Review Report Card

I agree with the others who posted negative reviews. I find it rather frightening that some people have MD after their names...enough said as one reviewer aptly stated.

My mother stopped speaking I called her office per my mother's primary Dr. Her rude brick wall of a secretary told me Dr Karen Berry did not make a habit of speaking to the family. We fired her immediately, she is who Baptist East had assigned to her while in hospital.

In the entire time I went to Karen Berry, I never waited less than over an hour, never had an actual prescription. She threw a bunch or seroquel samples at me and sent me on my way in ten minutes. Absolutely terrible.

Enough said. Run from this doctor. Does not deserve the title of MD. Run...or did I say that already.

This review may not be helpful, since Dr. Berry has changed her practice and is not seeing patients (as of May 20, 2017). However, I just wanted to thank Dr. Berry for many years of help. Her assistant/nurse/staff person Andrea has assisted me with prescriptions, etc. on many occasions as well, particularly when traveling out of town. Best wishes to Dr. Berry, she will be missed by many patients.

I just called for a new pt. appt. It clearly states "accepting new patients", but they tried to deter me by saying there is a 6 month waiting list. They said they don't have cancellation appts. When I asked to be put on the waiting list, they told me it was by doctor referral only. NOT HAPPY!

She was consulted to see a family member in the hospital, she stuck her head in the door and asked, How are you doing? My family member stated ok, and Dr. Berry left the room. She documented that she completed an assessment on my family member. She did not even introduce herself, much less complete an assessment. When the nurse came back in, my family member asked when is Dr. Berry coming and was informed that the lady who stuck her head in the door was Dr. Berry.

I was spoiled by being treated for chronic major depression and anxiety for 15 years by one of the last psychiatrists in Shelby County who did both talk and meds therapy. She was very intelligent, perceptive, and easy to access. When she retired I tried Dr. Berry. Dr. Berry has a very upbeat manner, but she was a step way down from my prior therapist: 15 minute instead of hour long sessions, a shallow mind by comparison, does not return non emergency phone calls, will not use e-mail for between visit informational conversations. Dr. Berry is basically just a mediocre pill pusher. Her assistant is rude too. I need to find a new psychiatrist who takes my insurance.

She dealt with my Dad's Alzheimers when he went in and out of St. Francis. She worked as the medication cocktail keeper trying to keep everything straight and at the right level. She does not counsel or think about it. She doesn't have that role or didnt with us. I expected more ccare or concern from her. It was a business like conversation.

Dr. Karen Berry, MD - Memphis, TN. You treat me in the hospital in December then ask that I call to make a follow-up appointment. I call twice only to get put on terminal hold. I call back again 2 times and ask that Dr. Berry call me back. The receptionist, Edna, calls back and tells me that it will be $50 for her to talk to me. $50? just to make an appointment? UNACCEPTABLE. You are WAY too busy to have me as a patient. I ought to charge you $50 ****ing dollars just for having to put up with your office.
