If you expect any communication from Dr. Aljundi you will be severely disappointed. I strongly recommend avoiding her AT ALL COSTS! Due to COVID restrictions, I was unable to be with my beloved spouse while he was intubated. After a lack of communication from her and others in the group I expressed to the doctor’s office my desire to have an update every 24 hours. She called and said “We do not normally provide an update to the patient’s family every 24 hours.” Hospital staff overheard her side of the exchange and called me to apologize and “justify” her behavior later saying “she works in a male dominated field and as a result sometimes is harsh in her communication”. I work, and have for 20+ years, in a male dominated field as well and that is not an excuse. In addition, as someone who has and continues to regularly interact with the medical community, especially residents and fellows such as her, this is NOT appropriate communication with a patient’s next of kin.
