List of Laverne R. Lovell Md's Reviews
Dr. Lovell was highly recommended by a health care professional that has been in multiple surgeries with him. He is the best Neurosurgeon. He is retiring at the end of the year which makes me sad. He has taken wonderful care of me.
Surgery 5 years ago and the pain is worse than before. Dr Lovell was very kind and had good bedside maners. He just held my hand and said Sorry he didn't help me. Did a MRI shortly after surgery and said he couldn't see anything wrong. Im in pain every day and have to be on pain meds daily. I don't know what he did but my pain is untolerable without pain meds since he did surgery.
I was sent to Dr. Lovell due to a Work related injury. My impression of him is He is very arrogant and not interested in helping patients. If you are in a workers comp claim please avoid the Dr. I will never use him again
He did my back surgery and two weeks after my surgery my back came open with a big hole and he acted like he didn't know what to do for it and I woke up from surgery with as much pain as I had before surgery . Back to after surgery and the hole about a week and half I keep getting worse had a MRI was told to get to the hospital right away I had infection in my spline and went though seven days of being on antibiotics one after the other needles stuck in my spine with no pain blockers very painful . after four days of being back home with a pic line I have kidney failure have to be air list back to hospital and emergency diylas done to save my live . All he could say is We will never know if its something I did are where things went wrong ! I have since ran into two other people who have experience the same thing happen to them but not to the extreme of the kidney failure like mine and I know for a fact that one of the people that I am talking about the only common thing We had was the doctor he had his surgery at Semmes Murphy I had mine at Baptist East Memphis ! Please be careful I'd you have him as your doctor !
I had surgery in 2008. No problem. Came home next day. Had no pain after surgery which i was glad of.
He is honest and discusses what is best for the persuit of life.
Used methidist hospital union ave.mphs tn.during my 24 hr stay hospital said they didnt have orders from dr.lovell on meds i was to have.I stayed awake all night in pain being miserable after surgery.next morning 2 hrs before discharge semmes and murphys staff showed up avoiding talk with or seeing me.yes i was at that time angry lying all night awake in pain!telling lovell he avoided comfortation on the issue.i felt it as wam bam thank you maam surgery.wasnt given any orders on post op. at all.i didnt go to last appt at his office for x rays with feeling it didnt matter to him.i have used dr.lovell with two other surgerys in lower back over the yrs.hating to try another in main stream of things.Maybe being my fault. Is this normal practice in todays medical care?i hear of this so often.
Attended visits with my husband who was sent there by workman comp. 'Diagnosed' m6 husband without a single test, using an MRI that was over a year old. No treatment, no help, and everything possible to not care for my husband. Shockingly poor. Stay as far away as you can get if you are on workers comp as he will also block your future medical. My husband settled for pennies on the dollar just so he could close the case and get medical care.
Dr. Lovell helped me with my degenerate disc disease. He in my opinion is one of the best doctors that I know. I had several fusions C3 - C7 and into T1. If you’re looking for a neurologist he’s your guy. I’m hoping I can get in bc I I have another ruptured disc.
DOES NOT CARE ABOUT WORKERS COMP PATIENT, STAFF VERY RUDE

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
