I have been going to Dr. Hammonds for about 20 years. I see Rachel or Dr.Hammonds for appointments and feel I receive excellent care every time I go. They both listen to understand and offer excellent medical advice. Each of the nurses and technicians have been kind, engaging and very attentive. I feel comfortable chatting with any and all of them and they even take time to share with me about their own children as I am an educator ! Lab work is opted to the patient portal within a day or two. My prescriptions are provided to my pharmacy before I leave their office. Kind people, professional people.
Great doctor. Very helpful
The office staff and all the clinical staff are awful except for Melinda. Dr. Hammonds is great but you can never get an appointment with him and Rachel the PAC is decent but for the hassle with everyone else just go somewhere else...
I've been going to Dr. Hammonds for more then 15 years. They are always friendly and I'm never waiting too long. Recently I had some lab work done and have been waiting for the result. Being that I went in on Thursday I was informed Monday would be the latest I received my results. I called Monday and they insured me it would be done Tuesday. It's now Wednesday and no one has contacted me and I very well may have a life altering disease. Thankfully after being examined Rachel pre-diagnosed me and proscribed me medication. Not sure if they do calls based on priority but I'm definitely upset with the lack of communication.
Doc Hammonds has been my Dr. since 1986. I was 28 at that time. Today I am 60 and have to admit, I'm not a very good patient. I hardly take medicine prescribed to me for the length of time on the label, and I never do the recommended follow up. However when I visited last February of 2018, I noticed something amazing. Either he or I, or maybe both had grown up and gotten older. My visit with him last time was so amazing I plan to keep him as my primary Dr. even though I have moved to Surfside TX. Even though I have retired, I hope he doesn't anytime soon.
Dr. Hammond has been our family doctor for 6 years. His staff is very friendly and kind. Very helpful. He dedicated time to listen and help find the solution. As long as he's a doctor, we'll be going to see him.
I agree about the bad customer service! I called to make my first appointment after a recommendation and the lady who answered the phone seemed like it was a problem and inconvenience to help me. It wasn't until I told her that I did not like the attitude that she changed her demeanor. Really not a good first impression so I will be taking my health care to another doctor. Maybe the office is too big to really care about patients?
I chose Dr Hammonds as my primary care physician, and even got my entire family to see him as well. Dr Hammonds as well as his entire staff are amazing. I wish I would have found him sooner, he's a very thorough Dr, and his staff are all very friendly, charismatic, and do their very best to make all his patients at home.
I can't believe he would get any bad reviews. I've been going to him since 2004 and have always found him to be very knowledgeable. All the nurses and staff have always been very caring and very nice. I've never had to wait long in the waiting room. They book my appointments in a timely manner. If I ever stop going to him, it won't be because I don't like him. It will be due to him no longer being on my insurance, which I hope is never the case.
Been going here for years, never had a problem, however the last two attempts to get an appointment they did not have time for me and the receptionist was quite rude and asked me what the emergency was.....ummm for one it's not, if it was I would be in the er, secondly when your not feeling well you would hope your primary care could get you in within a day or two and not next week.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
