Melvin Goldin's Online Review Report Card

Two stars rather than zero because my husband and daughter both appreciate and respect Dr. Goldin when they actually sit with him but if I could give negative stars for his responsiveness to phone calls for prescription refills then I would. I’m talking about anti depressants, not some frequently abused pain pills or other controlled substance. Both my husband and daughter have had the same experience most every time they need to refill their prescriptions. First, it’s very difficult to have anyone answer the phone so you leave a message which isn’t returned at all or in no reasonable amount of time so you call multiple times on multiple days til you can get someone to answer. Next the person answering, none too pleasant, says she will have Dr Goldin call in your prescription. This rarely happens so you go back to step one. Each time you reach his assistant on the same matter she is more irritated, as if you are the problem. There may be multiple repeats of the above on any given month. Some months my husband and daughter have made the mistake of assuming their prescriptions were ready and have gone to their pharmacies only to discover no meds. The pharmacies, both CVS and Kroger, have tried to reach Dr. Goldin for these refills; also to no avail. I’ve just left the pharmacy on behalf of my daughter; CVS was nearly as frustrated as I am. This is not an isolated incident. This is not a matter of the patient not making their appointments. Dr. Goldin knows better than anyone what happens to a person with depression who abruptly stops taking their medication. It isn’t pretty and this isn’t okay. My husband brought this to Dr. Goldin’s attention on his last visit. The information was received coldly. Yes, the simple answer is to find another psychiatrist, and we will, but that often requires months long waits. This is an inexcusable practice and I wouldn’t want anyone else to have to deal with it.

Do not go here. They don't bill your insurance. They charge you money and then don't know what they charged you. They won't send you a detailed receipt so you can use your health savings account. They claim they have called you and they don't.

Dr. Golfing was my father's doctor for many years and he was an awesome doctor. My family was very happy with the progress that he had with my father. My father is deceased now, but Dr. Goldin is an awesome doctor. I would recommend him to all of my family and friends who needs his help. Thank you so much for your help. The Berry family!

This man asked my sister extremely inappropriate questions when we saw him as children. My parents attempted to confront him but he denied it. I will remember it forever. Do not take your children to him.

My son has been seeing him for about 20 years. He has supported us through good and bad times. He is a calm and very thoughtful doctor that without him, my son would not be at the level he is now. My wife used to handle all of my son's needs and doctors before her passing. Dr. Goldin called and assured me that he was there and we would work the meds and his treatment out together. He has always been there to help with problems and medical needs. I highly recommend his services to anyone that needs them.
