List of Mohammad Assaf's Reviews
I recently had a 600 - 1000 pound garage door fall on my head at work and my company sent me to Dr. Assaf I just knew I was in good hands to finally get some help for me experiencing headaches mood swings sensitivity to light and sometimes forget what I am doing and the outcome of my test were in his words was "Your fine" it is mind boggling how a football quarterback can take a hit and instantly get diagnosed with a concussion and get the best treatment for their injury and I can have 600 to 1000 pound garage door fall on me and this doctor finds nothing just to keep good buisness with the company I work for leaving me screwed for whatever endeavors I have now and in the future I Would avoid DR. Assaf if he's willing to not diagnose patients honestly and accurately from work related injuries then you shouldn't trust his judgment at all
After I waited some time for him to enter the room, Dr Assaf lectured me for being on my phone. He had maybe been in the room for 6 seconds, and I was finishing a text a coworker about my return time. He later said I wanted there to be something wrong when I was confused by MRI results. Said tumors can “disappear” when I showed him two other MRIs both stating I had brain tumors. He did not seem to review the medical records I sent to his office, and they were a pain to have sent so I feel like I wasted my time doing that. I forgot to mention the first time that I came in he asked me my symptoms, and basically why I was there. I said brain lesions. He told me to stay off google. Again, they’ve been imaged and notated by the UPMC and the University of Indiana in PA. Both my dad and twin have them as they have MENS. This was on the form I filled out. He said it was a sinus infection, although the ER had ruled that out when I was having issues a couple nights before. Also one of my problems was a feminine issue that is very often caused by the pituitary gland (lack of cycle.) He told me to see my ob-gyn, as if I hadnt already informed several of this issue. That issue is also very related to the pituitary gland which is where my family has lesions!! I don’t know if a man would’ve been treated this way.
I am a cosmetic surgery physician in Memphis Tennessee and I read a review that was not completely complementary. I am certain that this doctor could’ve easily had a patient with a negative experience. But I do want to say that several patients have told me that this particular doctor has been exceptionally attentive. As a general rule I do not hear good feedback from patients who see neurologists. ...
The nurse practitioner was excellent and Dr.Assaf was as well. They thoroughly listened and are going to do the necessary tests and procedures to help me. Go for yourself because everybody experiences something different. Can’t base your experience off of someone else’s review. I almost did but I’m glad I went on and got my appt. With him.
If I can give him 0 stars I would. He doesn't look at any of the hospital paperwork. He basically just flipped through them and just brushed it off. My mom is one patients and he acts like he doesn't care whatsoever for his patients. My mom needs her paperwork to be filled out as well to turn in into her job and him and his nurses chooses whenever they want to fill out paperwork. It doesn't take two weeks to get paperwork filled out. The nurses whoever answers the phone likes to hang up in people faces as well. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!
Doesn't work for the patient. Works for the insurance companies.
One star is one star too many. Dr. Assaf ordered a cisternogram for my elderly mother before Christmas. We have still not received the results. After multiple calls from myself and my Physician brother, we get no response whatsoever. My mother is nearly bedridden and under Covid lock-down in an assisted living facility, and the receptionist told me she could not receive test results unless she comes in for an appointment. Clearly the only thing this "doctor" in concerned about it being able to make another charge. I plan to contact insurance company to encourage them not to pay. If her test results are positive and she is not receiving the care she should be getting, we will sue.
I have been with this practice for 9 years. Professional staff. Dr. Assaf is knowledgeable, very through and does not rush the appointment. Rembers patients history, andcoordinates well with my other physicians. He and his staff responds promptly.
Don't waste your time. Evidently, he does NOT read a patient's chart and just "assumes" what the problem is; totally ignores WHY the patient was referred to him in the first place. Had 2 visits with him; higher dose of medication was his magic cure. Will NOT go back. Could get better advice from a box of Cracker Jacks. I totally understand why he has a review rating of only 2.6; wish I had investigated him before office visits.
I give this doctor 5 stars. I feel like a lot of people aren't giving him the credit that he's due. I looked at the reviews and was skeptical about making my appointment, but my PCP tried to send me to a neurologist at Methodist and I knew I didn't want to go to him. So I went ahead and made my appointment with Dr. Assaf and I'm glad I did because not only did he listen, but his nurse practitioner did as well. After detailing to him everything that was going on with me, he instantly sent me to the lab to get my blood work and scheduled for me to take about 3 different tests that month that was needed for my situation. Also, my last neurologist had me on a high dosage of medication and he decreased it and I'm feeling much better, but I hope to get off my next visit. Not only that, but his staff is very pleasant and they keep a very clean environment. I give them 5 stars for sure.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
