List of Paul Klimo Md's Reviews
Dr. Klimo performed two stealth craniotomy’s on our 4 year old son to remove a large malignant tumor from his pineal region (the middle of the brain). Across the two surgeries Dr. Klimo performed a gross total resection…and it was a very tough case. At one point during the second surgery, we were told he may not be able to remove the remaining tumor and we were devastated. But Dr. Klimo did not give up on our son and the tumor was removed giving our child a greater chance of surviving his cancer. Each surgery took more than 8 hours. Each time our son was delivered back to us functioning. Opening his eyes, sitting up in bed, responsive, talking, etc. It was such a huge blessing on a very hard path. We are forever grateful for the care we received and for Dr. Klimo’s talent, compassion and abilities. He is the best as far as we’re concerned and he earned our trust as a wonderful surgeon.
The most innovative, imaginative, helpful doctor I have ever known. I am so sorry that he has retired.
DR PAUL KLIMO SAVED MY LIFE I will forever greatful.
My husband has been in Dr. Klimo’s excellent care in being treated successfully with a rare form of NHL. Our family is so very grateful to Dr. Paul Klimo and wish him all the best of health and happiness in his well deserved retirement.
Thank you Dr. Klimo, for your knowledge, thoroughness and care, especially for your extra follow up and monitoring after my care at BC Cancer Agency. I just found out about your retirement today. I am saddened I won't see you , but wish you wellness and peace in your much deserved re-retirement!
Dr. K is the best...We will never forget you. Wish you a healthy and happy retirement
An outside the box Oncologist whom I have a great deal of respect, love and gratitude for. Thank you for your service Dr Klimo and happy retirement, finally.
I found this website while looking for an oncologist for my husband who has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. It upset me to see the bad comments about Dr Klimo. This review has nothing to do with my husband, and everything to do with me. This year marks the 25th anniversary since my breast cancer diagnosis. I give all credit to Dr Klimo for my survival. At the end of the day, my treatment was my choice but I will never forget his comment "You only get one kick at the bucket". I chose the most aggressive treatment and have never regretted it. Yes, I have long term side effects but I'm alive - what's to complain about that! In the years since, treatment has improved, survival rates have increased, side-effects have lessened. Paul Klimo is a sincere doctor who has his patients' interests at heart. He won't remember me now as time has passed and I've moved to another city, but I remember when he recognized me at the supermarket and we discuss my treatment while I was picking out vegetables - that is a doctor who cares!
Hands down the most knowledgeable oncologist. We interviewed 5 before my husband started treatment. He was diagnosed with a rare type of sarcoma. Dr. Klimo is all about thinking out side the box. Pulling out all the stops. Whereas BC cancer is all about "protocol" " budget" and "politics". BC cancer only will pull out all the stops once you're on your last legs of life. By then it's too late. Dr. Klimo is proactive, an outlier and is ahead of the cure. He is truly someone you want in your corner. We used him as a consultant and BC Cancer is totally threatened by him and it's completely political. It makes me sick to see how our healthcare system operates at the expense of peoples lives. It's really a loss for anyone who's path he has crossed since he has recently retired.
I have had an excellent rapport with Dr.Klimo and he guided me through my cancer journey for the last 4 years to my complete satisfaction. I am very sorry he is starting his well deserved retirement and I wish him all the best.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
