List of Petros Konofaos Md's Reviews
I had an initial consultation in Feb 2022. I had one part of my surgery completed, all went well but the scheduling and insurance filing. I had to wait until the end of June 2022 before it was even submitted to insurance for preauthorization. Now that that part is complete. I went back for a second consultation over a month ago and was told directly by Dr. Konofaos and his assistant that yes he would perform the second surgery and it would be expedited. It still has not been submitted to insurance upon checking directly this morning (09/26/22). No one in the office will give a direct answer and I keep getting told I will get a call back for approximately the 7th or 8th time now. Its very frustrating, getting ridiculous, and very unprofessional.
He removed a piercing and did a great job was very friendly and professional I would recommend him
Meticulous and Excellent Patient Care There really aren't words to express how much we appreciate the meticulous care Dr. Konofaos and his team of residents/nurses have provided to our daughter. She was kicked in the face by a horse on Super Bowl Sunday that required her to have multiple surgeries within the week after the accident. Dr. Konofaos has been very thorough in his care and surgical treatment of our daughter. He explained her treatment very well to us, even with somewhat of a language barrier. Her upper jaw was crushed on the left side and had many broken bones on the right. Dr. K tried to save as much bone as possible during her first surgery but being very meticulous on how her facial structure would look in the long run he decided to go back in for a 2nd and 3rd surgery to continue to work on ensuring the best success in her facial and jaw structure. The follow up care once released from the hospital has been impeccable. On June 17, our daughter underwent her 4th round of surgery. This was a bone graft to replace bone lost in the upper jaw. Once again the team has been phenomenal and provided the utmost care to her. The surgery went even better than expected and her first follow up visit was excellent. We are excited to continue to move forward with her treatment and getting our daughter back to complete health. We are grateful to have her and especially grateful to the University Plastic Surgeons team lead by Dr. Konofaos that is actively treating her. If you or a loved one need a Craniofacial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Konofaos and team are THE BEST!

I can never understand what this man is saying. Sure, he's Greek, so he speaks English as a second language. I have tons of doctors who speak English as a second language, and I have no problem understanding them. But I can't understand what he's trying to convey. It's a problem because it affects my treatment outcomes. I literally cannot understand the instructions he gives me because the sentences are not linear and do not make sense.
I have basal cell carcinoma for 3 years. An ENT did surgery and I lost the nerve to my right eye & muscle tone in the right side of my face and also had radiation therapy because the cancer was not fully gone. The radiation did not help at all, but made me lose some hearing in my right ear & drainage that continues to this day. I found Dr. Konofaos on the internet about 3 months ago. He did a 7 hour surgery on my eye, side of my face and closed an opening in front of my right ear. I can't say enough good things about how well I am doing & what a great job Dr. Konofaos did. He is the only Plastic Surgeon within 600 miles that can re-attach nerves. If I had known about him earlier, he probably could have restored my face without surgery. I recommend him highly. He doesn't have the best handle on the American(English) language since he is Greek, but he communicates very well.
I have being trying to get my surgery done for months. Nurse will not return calls can't get any time line on surgery. Was seen through the trauma unit at Regional One had no problem with them! I was discharged with follow up surgery to follow at his new office. No return calls no one even tried to answer questions! I have yet to have surgery!!
I love this doctor. I was in a motorcycle wreck and almost lost my leg. He promised to save my leg and as of today he did just that!!!!!his bedside manners were great. Overall I would definitely. use him again!!!!
He didn't do a very good job of explaining the surgery or the possible complications to me or my family. I had a lot of unexpected complications after the surgery, including a medical error that was his fault. He is very unprofessional - avoid if possible.
When I brought up some issues I had with my surgery, he rolled his eyes at me. He looked at his nurse and said, "I always knew she had that in her."

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
