Had Colonoscopy following a positive Cologard test. Dr. Smith and staff very efficient and professional. Dr. Smith provided detailed summary post-procedure. I really wish I had skipped the Cologard test and done the Colonoscopy in the first place.

After spending approx. 12 hours in the BMH ED and nearly bleeding out from a GI bleed I passed out and awoke in ICU (still bleeding) to overhear 2 docs discussing the professional ethics of calling in another GI specialist since my regular MD was "unavailable." A very kind and professional RN came to bedside and asked if I would like some help getting a doctor to attend. Absolutely. She placed a phone call, and within the hour Dr. Randelon Smith was at my bedside. Little did I know that he and his wife were on the way to the airport for a vacation trip to CA when summoned by the nurse. He turned around, came to the hospital and saved the life of a complete stranger. Since that time we've spoken several times resultant from his caring enough to inquire about my welfare. They don't make 'em any better than Dr. Smith.

Dr. Smith was professional, more importantly to me he was pleasant. He answered my questions. I did not feel rushed during my visit. I am forever grateful for his staff and him.

Dr. Smith exemplified great bedside manner in that he was able to calm my nerves about the procedure and then give me confidence that everything would be okay afterwards. He was very professional in dealing with his staff, which was also amazing, and performing my procedure with excellence. I had no pain or any complications afterwards. I would indeed recommend him to my family and friends.

I had no issue with Dr. Smith and staff. I thought they were professional and friendly and I thought Dr. Smith had great bedside manner. It's now time for another check-up and due to a job/insurance change, I regret that I have to look for another doctor.
