If you're his patient, let's just say I hope you can understand your own charts because he definitely won't tell you what the numbers mean (even if some of your numbers have been way too high for years). Would not recommend to anyone with family that loves them.

Dr. Smith has operated on me 3 times and all were very successful. I highly recommend this surgeon!

Dr. Smith operated on me for thyroid cancer which required removing the gland. The end result was that the surgery has left me with essentially no voice nearly 3 months later. I have now been told that the surgery caused a paralyzed vocal cord which with each passing day is less likely to recover. Apparently this is due to the removal of some lymph nodes adjacent to the larygeal nerve that caused damage to the nerve. I had discussed my concern about loss of voice with Dr. Smith on my first visit. Both before and after surgery I was assured that any voice loss would be temporary, not exceeding 2 months. Now an ENT Dr. tells me it may not be that simple. Bottom line: Anyone having this type surgery should give considerable thought to using an ear, nose, throat specialist instead of a general surgeon. What the doctor does while the patient is under can have some serious consequences.

To meet a Doctor that takes time to talk, explain, and answer questions is amazing. Dr Smith a great doctor that took time to answer my questions when I was faced with the decision to under surgery. He performed the surgery, explained before hand the procedures and what he would do. The day of the surgery, he prayed with me and my family and was upbeat and positive. He was truthful in his diagnosis and medical opinion and referred me to another doctor that he deemed a little more experienced with my illness. My follow appointments were timely and productive and best of all he ALWAYS has a smile on his face.
