List of Susan Nelson's Reviews
My entire family went to Dr. Nelson years ago and we had only great experiences with this doctor. She clearly cared for her patients and showed it. She is not just about pushing as many patients through as possible to make money. She responded to patients who needed treatment at possibly inconvenient times. I assume she still does. We only changed doctors at that time because my employer complained that my appointments took too long due to the long drive I had to make to her office.
Mental illness, substance abuse and contracting an STD as an adolescent is not going to be corrected by losing weight. Thanks for nothing.
I don't think you need a medical degree to know that not all of a patient's problems can be corrected by a healthy diet and exercise. Especially when there is a family history of mental illness and substance abuse. I especially don't think that this is true for an adolescent who is already showing signs of mental illness, abusing substances, and contracting STDs. Healthy diet and exercise will not fix all of that.
She might be good if you could get an appointment in to see her. Her screener is par at best.
bad advice, no help at all. could not get the proper tests or prescriptions ordered.
I really do not understand how she made the best of Memphis list. Once during a visit she was more interested in showing her intern the ropes than actually responding to my issues at hand. She also is arrogant and does not provide information about the whole picture. E.g "first we will do this and go from there", etc. would be so much more helpful. The internet is flowing with information; please don' t be rude when I ask a questions (like why you suggest I do something "in the fall"?). Unless there is a study out there backing your claim, you're just being arrogant. Really disappointed with this service and am looking for another doctor.
On my very first vist to Dr. Susan Nelson, she Diagnosted a condition that I spend 5 years going to 4 different specialist did not know what the condition was. I plan on Dr Nelson always being my Doctor
At age 60 I don't think I've ever met a doctor who cared more about her patients. She is always caring, allowing me to discuss any concerns I may have. I never feel rushed & I've never had to wait longer than 10 mins. to see her. She has always gotten back to me with info. when she said she would. I am so grateful to have her as my physician.
Twice I have shown up for my appointment and no one was in the waiting room but me. Both times I waited over an hour because she supposedly was training a student doctor. She was all apologies when she did see me. Finally, after seeing me, she told me that she was going to refer me to an Endocrinologist because she didn't know exactly what was wrong. Until this this, she has never tried to follow-up with me or the doctor to see what the problem actually is/was.
Dr. Nelson is a great doctor. She takes the time to get to the root of your health concerns. She ask all the right questions and I can tell she really cares.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
